With the strong winds and rain hitting against the windows, Marina awakens with a start and averts her eyes from the bright light above her as it temporarily blinds her. She raises one of her arms to cover her face but she has trouble lifting it.
Marina looks over her arms and freaks out as she sees restraints placed on both her arms, holding her down onto the table she's laying on top of. She frantically tries to move her arms around, trying to somehow make them loose. In the middle of her moving around, she notices her legs also restrained. Her breathing picks up, beginning to freak out even more.
"Stiles!" She yells for him, being the first person to pop into her head.
She looks around the room she's in to calm herself. It's not a hospital room she's in, but she recognizes it as Deaton's back room. The same room she was in with Deaton and Scott.
Marina stops moving and complete silence takes over. She closes her eyes to focus on her surroundings. Her eyes move frantically behind her eyelids, almost as if her mind is traveling around the building. The voices in the next room become louder and clearer.
"Should I go back there? She called my name." Stiles says to Deaton and Scott.
Deaton shakes his head, "You don't know if it was her or something else."
"What are you talking about? It's Marina."
"Stiles, we still don't know what she is." Scott says, "We thought she was one thing but now she can be something else and we don't know what she is."
Stiles scoffs. He rubs his forehead, "Then why don't we just go and ask her what she is."
"You really think she'll know what she is?"
"I don't think so." Deaton answers, "You said she put out the fire, correct?"
"Like she talked to it actually." Stiles says, "She muttered something and it went away."
"And you said moments before her eyes were black and she looked to have just come out of a shower?"
Stiles nods, remembering the encounter he had with Marina in Boyd's bathroom. He remembers her slicked back wet hair and water droplets falling around her.
"And then she went back to normal after she 'woke up'?"
"Yes. It was weird." Stiles says. Scott pulls out his phone once it vibrates in his pocket. It's his mom. Melissa is asking him to pick up some food for her as the hospital is very busy at the moment.
As Scott types a response to his starving mother, he can faintly hear Deaton and Stiles discuss Marina and what creature she could be. Shoving his phone into his pocket, he rejoins the conversation.
"She looked like Carrie." Stiles shared with Deaton, looking out the clear front door as the rain pounds down onto the ground, "But you know, except the blood was water." He continues.
"Well we already know she's a caladrius, maybe - "
"Can a caladrius do what she did? Look wet one second then the next dry? Can a caladrius calm a fire?"
Deaton shakes his head, "Not from what I know." Stiles rubs his forehead in stress. Deaton continues, "Like I told Scott, she isn't just a caladrius. She has to be something else."
"But isn't that impossible? She can't be two things at once." Stiles says to Deaton.
Back on the table, Marina's eyes open wide and the black covers the whites of her eyes. With an effortless pull, Marina, or Carrie as Stiles has said, breaks off the restraints that are holding her down. She stops at the entryway of the room, staring down at the mountain ash spread across from one end of the doorway to the other. She tilts her head as her pitch black eyes look at the mountain ash.
