Prompt: Caspar thoughts.

Words: 2800+

Authors note- I just watched a movie and really wanted to write this. I hope you like it. Read till the end. Also if I did a Omega-verse one shot would anyone read it?

Caspar had watched as they lowered the coffin into the grave. Joe always said he would be six feet under soon. Caspar never thought that would actually happened though.

They were both so young. Caspar only now turning twenty-five and Joe twenty-eight. They still had so much to look forward to. Their wedding, adopting kids, and growing old together. Now all that was washed away because of some idiot.

It was only a week ago when it happened. If only Caspar would have dragged Joe with him to the car, he would still be alive. It all happened so fast when the gunmen pulled out his gun and shot pretty much everyone in the tiny store.

Joe was still alive when they brought him to the hospital. Having been shot in the abdomen and shoulder. They said that he would be fine and he wouldn't die. That once he was out of surgery, he could go back to his life with Caspar.

That didn't happen though. When the doctor came out and told Joe's family and Caspar the news they were all balling their eyes out. Joe didn't deserve to die, not like this. He deserved a life full of only love and happiness.

The passing days went by extremely slowly. Everyone of their friends would come by and give their apologies. Like that did anything. A simple 'I'm sorry' can't bring Joe back from the dead.

At night Caspar would sleep on Joe's side of the bed, cuddled in one of Joe's shirts or sweatshirts. They still smelled exactly like Joe did.

The house wasn't the same either. When Caspar got home from whatever he was doing he would always call out to Joe, telling him he was home. To his dismay there was never a answer only silence to follow. That's when the tears would fall from his eyes and he would sit in front of the door the entire evening until he went back to their bed.

The morning before the funeral was the worst though. He had to pull himself out of bed and put on his clothes. He hadn't opened his wardrobe the whole week and when he did, he wanted to die. Their in the back where both of the suits for their wedding which was suppose to take place in only two weeks.

Now everyone was saying their last goodbyes to the beloved boy. Caspar didn't say good bye though. He couldn't and wouldn't say that to Joe. He knew deep down in his heart that someday he would meet Joe again and they can continue on with there life. "I'll see you soon my love and when I do I swear I'm never leaving your side."

It had now been a week since the funeral and Caspar wasn't getting any better, not in the slightest. If anything he was getting worse. The first few days he would let his friends in. Everything he felt was numb, like he couldn't comprehend that Joe was actually gone and not on some trip.

The rest of the week, Caspar had slowly pushed everyone out. They still came around, but Caspar didn't care. Unless they were Joe, he didn't want anything to do with it.

Now on Sunday night he was sitting on the kitchen floor, in his tux for the wedding that was suppose to be in just a mere week. He was sipping the bottle of vodka in his hands. No matter how hard he tried to forget he couldn't. He couldn't forget all the memories they shared in this kitchen alone.

Like how they baked cookies last Christmas at midnight, or how Caspar proposed by a broken ring. Everything was so perfect. Of course life just had to mess that up.

The next week was even worse. Nobody called or came over to check on him anymore. Caspar was all alone. He barely got up from his bed and that was only to go to the restroom or to grab a small snack. Nothing big. He didn't deserve food. He's the one who left Joe. He's the one who couldn't protect him when he promised. He promised Joe he would take a bullet for him and when the chance came it never happened.
