Chapter 18

(Y/N)'s Pov

"How have you been?! Haven't seen you since high school!"

"(F-F/N)?!"

"Hiya! Long time no see!" The familiar figure was now standing right in front of me and I could make them out a lot clearer now.

"Oh my god! (F/N)! It is you!!" I rush over to them, giving them a huge hug which they gently returned.

(F/N) and I had been friends all throughout high school. But when we left, we both went to different colleges. We very rarely kept in touch due to the increase of workload we had each week.

"You still live in this neighbourhood, (Y/N)? Is the college you go to nearby?"

"It is" I reply. "I go to St. Moshi's which, surprisingly is only a short walk from the neighbourhood."

"Oh St Moshi's! I really wished I could go to that one. But I had to move to one further away because of my dad's job."

"Yeah...It's quite sad. We used to be so talkative back in high school. Now we go to college and we became a little more distant. It almost didn't feel right to me."

"It couldn't be helped (Y/N)" my friend said to me.
"We had a lot more work to do so we hardly got the chance to talk. And when we finally got some time to ourselves, all we wanted to do was watch Netflix or sleep."

"Ahaha that's exactly right!" I laugh.

"Well, I'm in your neighbourhood now. How about we take a walk and have a catch up?" My friend smiled at me.

"Sure!" I nod. "There's a cafe not too far from here. We can pick up some lunch and chat there."

"Sounds brilliant! Let's do it!"

So off we went to the cafe. (F/N) was very talkative on the way to the cafe. They had so much to talk to me about. I was so glad I got the chance to see them again. There was a lot of things I wanted to talk to them about too!

We had reached the cafe and sat down. (F/N) and I took a look at the menu to decide what to order.

"They have a wider selection here than any other cafe I've been to" my friend said.

"Yeah, this place really tries to bring out drinks and foods that aren't as common as others. So that more people can learn to enjoy the beauty of other flavours" I smile at them.

"You certainly come here often, don't you?"

"I do" I laugh.

We decided what we wanted to have and (F/N) went to go order at the counter for us.

I sat there on my own for a second. There was lots to talk about with (F/N) but I wasn't quite sure where to begin. And the majority of the things that have happened to me, since starting college, have been really bad. How was I supposed to lift the good spirits?

I rest my head on the table as I waited for my friend to return.

"(Y/N)?"

I immediately shot back up at the sound of my name. I look up to see Ryuzaki, slouched and staring down at me with 2 cups of coffee in his hands.

"Oh Ryuzaki! Hi! I didn't expect to see you again today."

"I came here to grab some lunch before I went back home. Did you have the same idea?" He smiled at me upon asking that question.

"Well, you see-"

"Mind if I join you? It'll be less lonely if we sit together" Ryuzaki said, getting closer to my table.
