Chapter 14

The Next Day

(Y/N)'s Pov

"(Y/N), do you really believe you are in a good enough position to go to college today?" My sister asked as she watched me shove my textbooks and notebooks in my backpack.

"It'll be fine. I can't afford to take another day off. I was absent yesterday, so it'll only affect my attendance if I'm absent again."

"Yeah. But you're still shaken up about what happened yesterday..."

"I'm fine. I'll see you later!"

On that note, I grabbed my backpack and coat and headed out the door.

I walked down the road, taking everything in.

My sister was right. I was still shaken up by the events of yesterday, but I just didn't wanna think about it.
I think being at college might take my mind off these things.

"Yeah right. I seriously doubt that" I say to myself.

So many things have happened in such a short time, would I even be able to concentrate in classes?
I couldn't sleep much last night either.

"Ahh! Why are so many bad things happening to me?!"

Light's dead. Misa in hospital, could be dead for all I know.

A part of me was looking forward to seeing Ryuzaki.

At this rate, he may be the only one I'd have left...

I turn around the corner to see the college in front of me and the familiar figure that was Ryuzaki.

He turned around and his eyes met with mine.
He instantly gave me a warmhearted smile with a gentle look in his eyes.

"Hey."

I didn't wanna drag him into anymore mess, but when I looked at him today, I couldn't help but begin to cry.

"Ryuzaki..."

His expression immediately changed and he rushed over to me.

"(Y/N)? What's wrong?"

"Everything's going wrong!" I sobbed.

"Hey, hey! It's okay. Don't cry."

Ryuzaki was unsure of what to do, but he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into a hug.

"It's alright. Everything will work out. Please don't cry."

I couldn't stop the tears from falling and just continued to sob into his shoulder, wrapping my arms around him also.

"Do you wanna tell me what's wrong?"

"No..."

"Okay, I understand. Whatever you're comfortable with (Y/N)."

I eventually broke the hug and wiped my tears with my sleeve.

"Here..." Ryuzaki pulled out a packet of tissues from his jeans pocket.
"Take as many as you need. You look like you could really use them."

I smiled a little through my teary eyes and took the packet from him.

"Thank you..."

"Are you gonna be okay? You know, for classes and stuff? You took one look at me and burst out crying."

"Yeah, I'll be fine..." I nod.

"Oh, speaking of classes..." Ryuzaki rummaged in his back pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper.

"Notes from yesterday's class. I made sure to take note of everything. I don't think I've missed anything out. If so, I apologise" He handed me the piece of paper and scratched the back of his head.
