Sorry for the few days of inactivity, it's hard for me to update when I'm not on online school, but we're back once again!

It had been some time since it had last rained in summer, the grey clouds covering the sky with a thick veil of darkness. Big drops of rain poured down on to the hospital garden, flooding most of the flower beds and seeping in to the terrain.
The air was heavy with humidity, the mist rolling through the city silently. The sun was invisible, hidden away from the many layers of clouds between it and Earth.

Y/n let out a small breath, her back leaning on the glass window giving in to her mother's hospital room. Bakugo stood in front of her, an awkward look on his face as he watched Mitsuki crying on M/n's bed, her hand clasping her best friend's hand. It was understandable, she hadn't been able to speak to her in two years.

"The old hag is actually crying" Bakugo mumbled, moving to stand next to Y/n so he wouldn't have to look in to the room.

"Let them be, they have so much to catch up on" Y/n laughed at how weird Bakugo was being about all of this.

The hospital had called Y/n two nights ago, informing her of her mother's sudden spike in vital signs and by the time they had woken Iida up to drive both her and Bakugo back to the city, her mother was awake. It had been a very emotional reunion, the two of them crying in each other's arms, even the angry blonde had shed a few tears when M/n had thanked him for taking care of her daughter for the past few years. The rest of their friends were informed over the group chat of what had happened in a rather rushed and vague way, not wanting to worry them over their sudden disappearance.

"Hey"

The word was accompanied by Bakugo's scarred hand making its way to Y/n's head, her spaced out eyes focusing back on to her friend standing next to her.

"How are you?" he asked, his voice cracking as he looked away, his face flushed at the embarrassment of wanting to do something for her, but not knowing what. His other hand scratched the back of his neck.

"I'm-" Y/n sighed looking down at the ground, the inevitable smile placing itself on her lips every time she thought about her mother's eyelids fluttering open after two years.

"I'm confused, but I'm happy" she nodded her head, looking back up at the blonde. Bakugo could see the renewed glimmer in his best friend's eyes, one he hadn't seen in a long time. It reminded him of the girl she used to be.

"They said they'll keep her in for some check-ups for the next few days, but if it all goes well she can come back home Katsuki"

Her voice faltered, squeaking a little at the end of her sentence, her emotions getting the better of her as she hugged the boy. Bakugo didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around her in return, his tense body relaxing at the serene and joyful atmosphere that Y/n brought with her. His forehead rested on her shoulder, his soft hair tickling the side of her face, making Y/n giggle. At that moment Mitsuki came out of the room, swiftly wiping away the few stray tears remaining on her face with a tissue.

"Y/n, dear, we'll leave you with your mother now, ok?"

Mitsuki placed a hand on Bakugo's shoulder, guiding him away from the teenage girl, making sure she could be alone with her mother. The blonde boy turned to wave at her quickly before leaving quietly, something very odd and rare for Bakugo to do.

Y/n's hand found the door handle, her uneasiness making her hesitate. What if this was all a dream? What if she was going to open this door and wake up and she'd be back at home, alone, her mother in critical condition once again?

If it's a dream, I'll have to wake up sooner or later anyway

She swung the door open, her eyes sealed shut as she walked through. Y/n paid attention to her surroundings briefly with her other senses before opening her eyes. She couldn't feel her bed underneath her and she was pretty sure she was still standing up. The girl squeezed her grip on the handle she had just used to make sure it was still there. A muffled laugh escaped the other person in the bright white room.
