Temptation

I woke up at around 10:30 to cates arms wrapped around me tight and her head nuzzled into my neck, sending shivers each time she ex-haled. I lay there for a moment simply enjoying the moment. Oh shit. I've missed two days of work. Slowly I stood up not waking up cate as I looked down at her, her peaceful face made me smile.
I got in the shower, dressed, and did my make up, I felt bad for leaving cate without saying anything so I made her breakfast and left a little note:
I had to get to work so I made you breakfast, hope you like it

I didn't even bother to look at my phone as I knew there was gonna be a thousand messages from Elijah and I just couldn't deal with it right now.

"Y/n? Are you serious?! Where the hell have you been?!" He questioned
He doesn't usually get angry but you could tell he was frustrated, not because you didn't show for work but because he didn't know where you were.
"I'm sorry Elijah I-"
"I was worried sick"
He cut me of by giving me a huge hug. I was confused at first
"You're not mad at me?"
A soft giggle touched my neck
"No im not mad. I thought you'd been kidnapped or something"
As we released each other I asked
"And what about jack?"
"Oh I would worry about him" he winked
"Elijah...? What did you tell him?"
"Nothing"
"Elijah"
"Fine. I said you were out of town"
"Oh"
"To-"
"To...?"
"To visit your dad"
"What Elijah why would you tell him that you know I hate him"
"What else would you want me to say"
"Literally anything else"
We laughed it of and eventually I thanked him for having my back.

A few hours went by and the bar was quiet as it usually is during the day.
"Ahhh y/n, how's your dad?"
"Huh" you replied forgetting what Elijah told him
"You went to visit him?"
"Ohhhh yes yes ummm he's.... he's great"
"Lovely to hear it"
"Oh and Elijah ,y/n?" He began as he was slowly backing away ready to leave
"Tonight's going to be real quiet so we're shutting early"
"Really? How come?"
" a new club opened up and it seems it's gotten quite the attention"
We all groaned and rolled our eyes but were relived that we get to finish early.

It was around 6 now, I only had an hour left, the mumbling of the five people that was in the bar made me sleepy. I don't think I've ever seen it this quiet.
"That's my phone sorry hold on"
Elijah nodded as I turned around and he went back to whatever he was doing

Cate: can't wait till you get home ;)
You: oh me to :)

"What are you smiling at?"
"Hmm? Oh nothing" I stammered as I shoved my phone back in my pocket not letting him see.
"Y/n. You were smiling at your phone."
"Sooooo?"
"Sooo who was it?"
I smiled
" oh come on tell me "
"Ok ok but you have to promise not to tell anyone!"
"Cross my heart"
"It's Cate"
"Oh yeah cause I know who Cate is. DETAILS!"
"Ok calm down... it's umm"
"Spit it out y/n"
