The day of the first part of the Chunin exams was coming up quickly. She only had two more days to make up her mind, and convince Sakura to participate. Sakiya knew that a three-man squad had to participate but because there were four of them, they had to all go or they wouldn't be able to go in. She just needed to convince Sakura.
She walked downstairs to see Sakura washing the dishes. She walked into the kitchen and picked up a towel from the sink to dry them.
"Hm, what are you doing Sakiya? It isn't your turn to do dishes." Sakura asked.
"It's okay. I wanted to talk to you anyway." Sakiya said. Sakura looked down into the sink and continued cleaning.
"Look, I know why you want to talk to me. I just don't think I'm ready." Sakura said sadly.
"Sakura, Kakashi-sensei wouldn't have signed us up if he didn't think we were ready. We completed a B-rank mission for the first time a couple weeks ago and we did great as a team." Sakiya said, looking at her. Sakura looked up. It was like she was in thought.
"I can't use ninjutsu or genjutsu and I can barely use Taijutsu," Sakura said.
"Sakura, you can use ninjutsu. You just have never tried. Normally, and I'm not trying to be rude, you care more about your looks and about how you perceive yourself to Sasuke. You've never really trained. This can be a good experience for you and if we don't pass, then there is always next year." Sakiya said, trying to convince her.
"You're right Saki. Maybe I should just do it. Besides, we do have the strongest team." Sakura said with a small smile. Sakiya turned, she saw her mom walk into the kitchen and sit down. She looked nervous.
"Mom? What's wrong?" Sakiya asked, walking over to her.
"Sakura, please, come and sit down with me." She said. Sakura came over and sat down next to Sakiya.
"You two have a special gift. Because you are twins, you can infuse your chakra with each other." She said. The twins looked at each other and looked back at their mom.
"What does that mean?" Sakura asked. Their mom looked down.
"It means that when you two lock hands or put a hand on each other's shoulders, your chakra maximizes by a lot. It's like you are one person." She said.
"I heard Kakashi-sensei down here a couple of nights ago. Before we had the talk about the Chunin exams. He said something about what he saw happen during our mission." Sakiya said. Sakura looked over at her.
"Why didn't you tell me, Sakiya?" Sakura said.
"Because Kakashi-sensei said he was going to tell us. But when he didn't say anything I just assumed that maybe I was mishearing things and that it didn't actually happen." She said. They heard their mom sigh.
"No Sakiya, you heard everything correctly." She said.
"This means that we can create jutsu together," Sakiya said, looking at Sakura. The two seemed happy about this. Finally, Sakura and Sakiya could work on something together. The only problem is that their mom seemed to not be happy about it.
"Mom, why aren't you happy about this?" Sakiya asked.
"Because I've seen what happens when people become overly strong. They tend to head for the dark side." She said.
"Mom, trust me. Sakura and I definitely won't be heading down that path. Sakura barely has a mean bone in her body." Sakiya joked. Although she was trying to make light of the situation, she knew what her mom meant. All the famous ninjas who had great power turned to the dark side and wanted the village to be destroyed. Sakiya wouldn't let that happen to them. They were going to use this power for good.
"Sakiya, do you want to go to the training grounds and see what we can do?" Sakura asked. Sakiya nodded and they got ready to go. They got to the training grounds and they talked about what they were going to do first. Sakiya was already perfecting her Earthquake jutsu so she wanted to start with that.
"Okay, so let's try and do what we did in the mission. Put your hand on my shoulder and when I start to use my chakra, infuse yours with mine." Sakiya said. Sakura nodded and put her hand on her shoulder. Sakiya made the hand signs and put her hands on the ground. The minute she started using chakra, Sakura's and hers infused together. The Earth shook and multiple cracks formed in the ground heading towards the trees in front of them. The cracks shot out and when it hit the trees, it opened up swallowing multiple trees in its path. When Sakiya was done, she clasped her hands together and the Earth closed on itself, not leaving a trace of the cracks. They released the jutsu and looked at each other.
"We did that?" Sakura said, surprised. Sakiya nodded.
"Yes, sis. We did that. Together." She said, emphasizing the word together. Sakiya got up and hugged Sakura. After a couple seconds, they let go of each other.
"Now, how do you feel about the Chunin exams?" Sakiya asked, smiling.
"I'm ready." She said. Sakiya smiled. She knew that with this power that they could pass the exams. The twins walked home, giggling and talking about the exams and about this knowledge that they have. For the first time in a long time, they were getting along and Sakiya didn't want it to end. She was happy having her sister around. Finally, someone who she could talk to and train with.
