"You're supposed to be dead."

He sneered at her words, "Then why have you been looking for me?"

Sutton's fingers twitched, he knew she was scared but she masked it pretty well and snapped right back, "We needed proof."

"No," He stepped closer, chest expanding, "You wanted your toy back."

They were quiet as a hurricane of screams tore around them. Their eyes glowed eerily in the dark as a strong breeze tore at their clothes. He had no idea when the weather had changed but he didn't care. All he knew was that Sutton would not walk away from this.

Nothing could protect her now.

"Come home and I won't kill you," Sutton said in one last desperate attempt to save her own skin. His keen eyes didn't miss the fidget of her step, the sweat that trickled down her temple, and he grinned even darker. The last thread of his control frayed, thinner and thinner.

"There is no home for me."

And then he was moving. He didn't wait for her to say any more lies, he didn't wait for her to act first, he dove for the kill. His wolf morphed into his conscience, man and wolf as one. Sutton barely sidestepped his razor claws but he managed to slice quite a bit of skin from her shoulder. Blood exploded in his face but it only merged with the red hazing his vision.

"Joel - " She tried to reason, skin pale white, but he would not listen.

He would never listen to her poisonous words again.

He had tried to help her once and she had stabbed him in the back. She stole everything from him. She was no better than the rest of the twisted family and he would start with her head. His wolf was still furious from all the pain of losing their mate and some of his actions blurred impossibly fast. He clawed and struck with hate in his heart and fury like lava in his veins. Sutton was barely dodging the deadliest of his strikes.

Darkness crowded around them as they circled. He felt like a feral beast, completely out of control, and he never even felt when Sutton managed to land a few hits. Their blood soaked into the soil, decorating the trunks of the trees nearby, but he was unstoppable.

He wasn't a wolf on a leash anymore.

He snagged his claws into her side, she stumbled, and he jerked her down to her knees. Whimpers escaped her lips but it all fell upon deaf ears. He had vowed to never hurt a woman but Sutton no longer fit into the criteria. His sister was a soulless, less human than him, and her crimes deserved justice; and perhaps a little revenge that he deeply enjoyed. He got lost in his primal instincts, letting his wolf release every pent-up emotion, and Sutton didn't stand a chance. He destroyed her flesh and shattered her bones.
