Recommendation: Human by Rag'n'Bone Man
Y/N's POV:
I adjust my face mask before pulling gloves on. Right now we have to go into Trost and collect the dead bodies.
If we don't collect the bodies and burn them we would be at risk of a plague. Even more people would die needlessly.
Alexandra: All this blood...
Violet: So many people died...
Y/N: More would've died if it weren't for those that gave their lives just so humanity would have a chance.
I walk around a corner as I find two bodies on the ground. The smell of dead bodies finds its way into my nose. Their clothes soiled from their digestive track letting go of whatever they had left in the tank.
Y/N: Dear god.
The first body is that of a man. No a kid. Like me. No older than 16.
His stomach impaled by debris. Must've gotten smacked into it by a titan.
The other body is indistinguishable. I can't make out any features of whoever it used to be. That's how mangled they are.
I sigh before pulling the kid's body off of his impalement. As I pull him off blood spurts out hitting my chest. Gross.
Once I get the body off I put my arms under their armpits in a hook like manner.
I then drag the body towards a cart with various other bodies.
I walk back towards the other body and do my best to keep it from falling further apart. Blood stains my gloved hands as I deposit the body.
Alexandra: Hey Y/N we need a hand.
Violet: It's...bad. Really bad.
I nod and follow them as we walk down the street. The smell hits me first before I even see what awaits me.
As we round a corner I feel myself gag. The sight forever ingrained into my mind. The smell lingering in my nose triggering my gag reflex.
Alexandra: This is what we needed help with...
Before us is a sack of human remains thrown up by a titan. Titan's lack a digestive system. Instead they just throw up the bodies they've eaten.
Since they don't eat to sustain themselves it can be implied that they simply kill us just to kill us.
Y/N: Let's get them out of there.
I take out a survival knife they made apart of our kit for today and cut the sack open. Instantly the bodies spill out hitting my shin and covering my boots in blood. Their hands outstretched to me as if they were begging for help in their final moments. Dull eyes stare through my soul. Dear god the smell of the not so digested bodies is far more pungent than anything I've ever smelled.
I'm forced to take a step back before lifting up my mask and throwing up.
Alexandra: You okay there?
I hold up one finger to let them know to give me a minute.
I take in a shaky shallow breath before putting my mask back on and nodding.
Y/N: Breathe through your nose to get used to it.
We begin dragging the bodies back to the various piles of corpses. This is not what I signed up to do.
I thought I'd just be fighting titans. Not this fresh hell I've been in since the start of the Battle for Trost.
Imagine that? I'm part of the battle where humanity finally won. But at what cost?
