Recommendation: Your Gonna Go Far, Kid by The Offspring

Y/N's POV:

I hold my stomach in hunger at the refugee camp. Around me are the survivors of Shiganshina.

Bianca sits next to me with a black wrapping around her eye. I feel a wave of guilt wash over me.

Because of my hesitation my only family left got hurt and lost complete eyesight in their left eye.

Bianca: Here, I need you to eat up.

She hands me a piece of bread. Wall Rose wasn't exactly prepared for any refugees.

I take a bite of the bread and almost instantly wolf it down before stopping. Has she eaten yet? Before I can ask I hear her stomach growl.

Bianca: Uhh just ignore that okay?

She puts her hand on my head and rubs my head. It's a brief comfort before I hand her half of the bread. She nods and takes it before eating.

Y/N: Hey Bianca?

Bianca: Hm?

Y/N: What are we supposed to do now? Dad's gone, our home is gone...we have nowhere to go and no one to turn to...

She shakes her head.

Bianca: I know things seem bleak right now. It'd probably be easier to curl up into a ball and die.

She stands up.

Bianca: But we're L/N's. We've never known what it means to give up. To keel over and let the world walk all over us.

She finishes her bread before moving her hair out of her good eye.

Bianca: I'm old enough to join the military. It'll be a tough 3 years. But I can do it.

She looks at the walls then at me.

Bianca: I want to protect the walls. The people in them. And most importantly you.

I look up at her.

Bianca: I'm aiming to join the Garrison. And that'll be our ticket into a stable life.

I nod my head.

Y/N: When do you leave?

Bianca: Soon...I'm going to need you to be strong for me okay?

Y/N: Where am I supposed to stay?

Bianca: I asked Armin's grandpa to look after you. He agreed as long as your willing to help out with the others.

I nod my head. I can do this. I have to put on a brave face so she doesn't worry.

Y/N: I can do it. Just make sure you don't forget me.

She reaches into her pants pocket before pulling out a bloodied Scout patch. She rubs her finger across it before handing it to me.

Bianca: A piece of home.

She left at the end of the week. I ended up living with my friends and Armin's grandpa. Unfortunately he died not too long after my sister left.

As did so many other people. They all died in an effort to retake the wall. But they were just civilians not soldiers. So they didn't last.

Now it's just me and the others. The four of us sit on some street steps.

Eren: I've decided.

I look over at him as his eyes grow serious and with hatred swirling in them.
