Never too certain

You can never be too certain who's the one you're talking to,

Just a bit of lady's powder can conceal a face of blue,

There are many in this country that will seek to trick your eyes,

Just remember, just remember, this rhyme that will light their lies.

If you see a fellow dancing who refuses to sit still,

If his smile is very wide and seems to you against his will,

Feed to him a little pepper when you strap him down in bed,

Then you'll see the ugly spider flee it's home inside his head.

If you see a lady lonely, walking quiet down the streets,

If her face is covered fully and her hands are white like sheets,

Huff and tell her she is ugly and she should vacate the place,

She will go with shame to hide the fact that she has got no face.

If you see a man with glasses frowning as he glares your way,

And those lenses can't be seen through even in the light of day,

Shock him deeply, like a clown with all it's silly flops and flips,

You will see with his surprise the eyeball peering past his lips.

If you see a little girl who skips along the country track,

With a frilly bonnet fastened tightly 'round her hair of black,

Throw a morsel her direction, land it squarely on the road,

Watch the rats spill from her belly, tearing up their false abode.

If some mister calls to you and offers sweeties in his hand,

And you want to know if you can risk to follow what he's planned,

Run away, don't let him catch you, get away and do not stall

He is probably a mortal man, and yet the worst of all.
