Here's what we do when we lock up our door,

Pray for the lock to be keeping it shut.

Here's what we do to keep down the window,

Board it up tightly and hammer the nails.

This is the sound we are hearing at night,

Every day they take longer to stop.
Is it Jingling-Jangling-Jiggery Jack?
They clapped him in irons, he cannot be back!

His body is jagged from time on the rack.

With fingers like corkscrews and face like a toad,

We hear him jangling on down the lane.

Also sometimes we are hearing his howls,

Wanting to make us all look just like him.

I see his shadow behind the doorframe,

I hear him jangling up on the roof.
