What did you see, oh deary me,

to make you look so grim?
What did I spot when I went to town?
A quite funny shop, and a leather crop.
What did I spot when I went to town,
but some people on display.
What did you see when you went down the road?

A barber's stand, with an unsteady hand.

But some folk with crimson smiles.

What did I catch when I went up the hill,
a mountain of boots, and a tree with odd fruits,

their stems were made of rope.
