A man walked down a busy street,
His face was full of fright
He was ignored by all around,
As daytime grew to night.Seeing that the night was near,
The man began to twitch,
His large eyes darted left and right,
Shiny and dark as pitchThe man them bumped a lady's arm,
Ignored her yelp of pain
He simply walked a swifter pace,
His legs now under strainThe streets soon dwindled down in size,
The man took greater speed,
Wishing beyond every hope
T'escape upon a steed. The man then ran and ran and ran,
The alley growing dark
Now that he could not see his way
A foot should miss it's mark. And miss it did, and the man tripped,
Like some awful bad dream,
Upon the ice he slid and fell,
He screamed and screamed and screamed. The man who chose to look 'round once,
No longer turns his head,
For he knows a fearful fiend
does close behind him tread.
