Misty and I stand in a vacant alleyway in front of a metal door, I check the address one more time, "Yep, this is where Walker told me to go."

"Are you sure, Mya? How do you even know it was Walker that sent you the message? What if this is some trap done up by Mantis or his demons that he apparently has?" She crosses her arms. She stands just barely behind me, shivering in the cooling outside air.

"We don't really have much of a choice, Mantis will find a way around my threat and I don't want anyone else getting hurt. This has to work," I tell her.

"And if it's a trap?" She asks.

"Then all is lost anyway," I say as I knock on the door. I hear the sound of footsteps approaching and soon the door opens. A woman is standing there, she has big rollers in her messy blonde hair, a white shirt with red poka-dots that is too short for her and low-riser blue jeans.

"Mya, Misty, Hello! Walker is expecting you! Please, come in," She steps back and ushers us into what once was a store in a strip mall, but has since been converted into some kind of apartments. "Walker is around somewhere, I'll have to find hind. Here," he points to where the storefront would be, "Go sit down, make yourselves all comfy! I'll find Walker and get both of you some tea! Does that sound good, sugar?" She says in a chipper tone with a wide toothy smile.

"Yes, that sounds fine," I say and I gesture to Misty to keep walking.

"WALKER! WALKER! YOUS GOT PEOPLE HERES FOR YA," the woman yells out, "GETS YOU IN HERE AND TALK TO THEM, WALKER!"

Misty starts to laugh and I look at her, "still think this is a trap?" We sit down on an old floral-patterned loveseat. There are trinkets, glass balls, dice, scarves, and dollies everywhere on the walls.

"WALKER! I SAID YOUS GOTS PEOPLE HER FOR YA! YOU SAID DIS WAS IMPOR'NT!"

Walker emerges from a nearby room through a wall of beads.

"WALKER-"

"Gloria, I hear you," He says calmly before turning to us, "they just don't make assistants like they used to,"

"ASSISTANT? ASSISTANT!" Gloria comes around the corner, "DAMNIT WALKER, I'M YO' WIFE!"

Walker smiles and chuckles for a moment, "the best wife I ever had!"

"You better believe I'm the best wi- WAITT A MINUTE!" She starts to yell again, "I'M THE ONLY WIFE YOU EVA' HAD!"

"There's a good reason for that," Walker says and then he sits down across from us.

"Well, I don't know what that's suppose ' mean. Whateva', Imma get yous that tea!" She walks off to the kitchen area again.

"You are here because Montgomery is in trouble," Walker says.

"Yes."

We get our tea and Gloria sits down with us. It looks like she can tell we are not here for happy reasons, but she is trying to stay positive. We sip on our tea.

"You have only a few options, Mya," Walker says.

"What would those be?" I ask as I set my tea on my lap. Misty, sitting beside me, strains to listen.

"One is run, while he's in Montgomery's body it would be harder for him to track you, you could hide, run for the rest of your life,"

"No, not okay. I'm not leaving Montgomery like that," I say.

"I didn't think you would pick that one," Walker gives me a small smile before it fades, he gets serious, and continues talking, "Your other option is only available because you are joined."

"I'll dot!" I say, "What do I have to do?"

"Hold your horses, there is much you need to know, and it's extremely dangerous and risky. You could end up imprisoned if you're not careful," He leans closer to me, "I need to know you will be patient, and listen before I tell you anything more."

"Mya," Misty places her hand on my shoulder, "I want to help Montgomery too, but are you sure about this?"

I look at Walker, "Tell me more."
