~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's been a week since Matt, Kyle, and I had been staying at Vic and Emma's house. The adoption papers were getting finalized this Friday. I would permanently be a part of Vic and Emma's family. I finally felt like I was at home again. I hadn't really thought about what was happening because it happened so fast. Everything and everybody was rushing past me. I never really thought this through all the way. I would never say no though. I would rather live with Vic and Emma than on the street. Plus, Vic and Emma treated us so well.
I pushed myself up to sit up on the bed and leaned agains the backboard. I looked at the picture on the top of my dresser. I walked over to it and picked it up. It was a picture of my mom, my brothers, and me. The tears crawled down my face. I missed her so much. No one could ever replace her. I walk downstairs and tell Vic I am going for a walk.
I put on my converse. I walked down the street and passed the cemetery gates. I looked around at all the graves. Tears were still falling down the my cheeks. I walked up to my mother's grave. I cleaned it up a little, pulled out the weeds, and brushed the dirt of her plaque. I wish I had brought flowers but I didn't have enough money and I didn't want to ask Vic for some because they already did so much for me. I couldn't ask for more.
"Hi, Mom. I have some news for you. Remember the guy from Pierce the Veil, Vic? Vic and his fiance asked me if I wanted to be adopted by them. I don't want to replace you though. No one will ever replace you. Everything is happening so fast and I don't know what to think anymore. I'm happy they asked to adopt me though. I miss you so much. I wish you could give me some advice right now." I mumbled to my mom's grave. I was trying to get the words out over my crying.
Soon I feel two people hug me from behind. I look back as I wiped my tears. I see my brothers comforting faces look at me. They look at me with their big green eyes which always made me smile no matter what I was going through.
"Hi mom." Kyle and Matt said. I'm sure they missed mom just as much as I did. Maybe not so much Kyle cause he was still a baby when she passed on. I saw Vic and Emma at the distance. Once they caught up with us, they hugged all of us. I was starting to really love these group hugs. I grinned from ear to ear. I saw Emma had flowers in her hands. I smiled. Of course my brothers would tell them where I was going and they would buy some flowers.
After another long family group hug, Emma places the flowers on the my mother's plaque. We all said our words to my mother. I was happy to share this moment with them. I knew my mother would have wanted me to get adopted. She would want me to be happy. Once we all finished the our messages to my mom, we all had one more group hug then walked to the car. We all packed in the car and drove home.
We went to buy some clothes for my brothers and I. Vic and Emma insisted they buy us some new clothes since we didn't have much clothes or anything right now. So after shopping we loaded the car with 10 shopping bags. I never remembered buying that much clothes in my entire life! We went back home and my brothers and I unpacked the clothes into our dressers.
"Get dressed guys! We're going out!" yelled Emma. I got my brothers dressed and then I took a shower and tried on some of the new clothes on. The clothes were so nice and clean. We all walked down stairs. "C'mon, Vic is waiting in the car." Emma said.
We walked back out to the car and saw a bus parked outside the house. I looked at the bus in confusion. I saw 3 men come out of the bus. It was Mike, Tony, and Jaime. My face transitioned from confusion to happiness. When I saw them, I knew immediately what was going on and by the look on my brothers faces so did they. Emma walked up and hugged the guys.
"Can we ride in the bus, please? Can we? Can we? Please?" My brothers said in one breath. Emma and Vic nodded. My brothers, the guys, and I piled onto the bus. I couldn't believe it. I used to be lucky enough to go to Pierce the Veil concerts to get away from my situation at home and only if I could save enough money but now I was traveling along with the band. And the band's lead singer was soon to be my father. I can't believe how much my life has changed in just 3 weeks.
