As Amelia entered her house, she saw her parents getting ready, her mother was baking cookies, presumably to bring with them to the meeting.
Her first meeting, she would soon become a member of the sun blessed ones, she was exited though a little sad that the she had had to leave Robin. She rushed up to her room to change her clothes, though the fult didnt have a dress code, the current outfit was a bit too fasion forward.
She threw the e-girl clothes on her bed as she pulled on her light wash mom jeans, a white baggy short sleeved tshirt and a red and black flannel over it. She took her hair out of the pigtails that she put them in that morning and let her poofy hair fall over her back and shoulders. The pulled on s pair of red convers and made her way downstairs.
Her parents were still getting ready, the cookies were now out of the oven and sat on a plate covered in plastic wrap. Her mother was fixing her hair in the mirror in the hallway. She's wearing a similar outfit to Amelia and but without the flannel and she was wearing suede boots instead of convers.
Amelia's dad came down the stairs, he was also wearing jeans and a tshirt.
Amelia reflected on how basic her family was.The family got in their car and and drove off. They were on their way to the town college where the sun blessed ones were based.
Amelia felt tense as she existed the car, the collage was a big building, it seemed so dark. The sky was gray with clouds that threatened of rain. The energy was defenetly right for a secret ancient cult meeting.
The family entered the building, Amelia saw other people walking down to the basement. Her parents followed them and so did she. The group of people made their way deep down under the surface level.
When the staircase finally ended, it opened up into a big room, it was light by lanterns on the walls. Inside the lanterns were glowing orbs, magic, the room was lit by magic. Amelia could also feel a high vibration in the room.
Amelia was amazed, she had never seen magic before, she had known of its existence and she knew that it could only exist here, in the light nexus. But seeing it in real life. Her eyes fell on a glowing stone that sat in the sealing, it was almost circular and she would have guessed it was about 3' in diameter. She knew what it was too, it was the light stone, the source of the light magic and the light epicentre of the sospre continium.
The group of people filled the room. Amelia noticed that a man was standing in the center of the room.
"Welcome everyone", said the man, opening his arms in greeting.
"Hey Charlie", responde most of the people in the group.
Amelia made the logical assumption that the man was named Charlie and that he was the leader.
"As you know we are gathered to prepare for the full moon on Tuesday", stated Charlie.
Charlie's eyes landed on Amelia and the moved up to her dad's face.
"I presume this is your daughter?, damien", asked Charlie, the question was directed at Amelia's dad.
"Yes, this is Amelia, we have assessed that she is ready to join the cause" stated her father.
Charlie nodded to Amelia's dad and then to her.
"Welcome to our ranks Amelia", stated Damian in a warm tone.
The rest of the meeting was boring to Amelia, all the grownups had things to do and Amelia tried to help but she could do much. She ended up sitting on the bottom step of the stairs.
She watched people read in books gather plants and similar activities for about one hour before something intresting happened. Charlie stood under the light stone and called upon its magic.
Amelia watched mesmerized as a drop of light fell into his hand. It streamed around his hand. The longer he held the light, the more the light spread through the veins in his arm.
He quickly walked over to a pile of plants and placed his glowing hand on them. The light poured from his hand and the light receded from his veins.
All the light soaked into the plants and then faded.Amelia started at the mile of plants. She yearned to hold light like that.
She shifted the flannel off her shoulders and let it fall of her arms and down to the step behind her.
She held up her arms in front of her. She observed her blueish veins and could picture them glowing like that. She watched her hands also imagining them to be glowing.
She let her hands fall and rest on the step she was sitting on. She turned her gaze to the light stone and wondered how Charlie had done it. She wanted to try it herself but decided not to. She didnt know how and she did not want to look like a fool at her first meeting.
The boring activities continued after that. Amelia went back to simply watching the people absentmindedly.
After another hour or so people had started to get finished with their tasks, they were talking with one another and eating the snacks people had brought, Amelia's mother's cookies were among these.
Amelia tried to join in but ended up back on the bottom step but with a cupcake in her hand. She ate it as slowly as possible to make it last, but it turned out to be difficult, she only realized how hungry she was when the cupcake was gone and she wanted more.
She got up to find something to eat but discovered that all the plates were empty. The gathering didnt seem to be stopping any time soon. She spotted her mother in deep conversation with an older woman and made her way over to them.
"Hey mom, can I leave, i wanna go home and have dinner", asked Amelia.
Her mother considered her for a moment. Then sighed.
" sure ami, do you know the way home", asked her mom kindly.
"Yeah I'll figure it out", answered Amelia quickly.
Her mother nodded to her as a gesture of permission. Amelia ran away from her mother who returned to her previous conversation.
Amelia ran up the stairs, they never seemed to end. Round and round she ran. She was exhausted when she reached ground level.
Her pace slowed noticeably as she walked out of the building and into the street.
She walked slowly down the streets, the moon light made all the city look more beautiful. She stopped in front of the public library, she didnt know why but she felt something. Vibrations, not unlike the ones in the basement hall she had spent her evening in. But these vibrations were different, like they were at a lower pitch.
It was almost magnetic and somehow reminded her of Robin. She almost took a step toward the building before the sound of her stomach rumbling brought her back to reality.
She turned away from from the library and continued on her way home.
