Phil: Follow them...
Back in the hospital ward, y/n has already basically recovered- save for some minor back pain, his hospital phone rung for like the seven-millionth time today.
y/n: Ooh, it's all about me tonight.
y/n answers the phone and waits for a response.
y/n: This is domino's may I take your order?
Nick: Cut the shit Romanoff.
y/n: Shit, it's you- umm, how may I help you sir?
Nick: I got a mission for you.
y/n: Another one?
Nick: Don't worry, this'll be nice and low key, no fighting.
y/n: There's always fighting...
Nick: Phil tracked our mystery man to a bar, I want you to spy on him.
y/n: Espionage? I'm not my mother.
Nick: Then be better.

Selvig: Seems Darcy's a terrible intern, but a talented hacker.
Donald: Thank you for what you've done.
Selvig: Don't thank me. I only did it for Jane.
Donald: Are you in love with her?
Selvig: Of course not!
y/n steps into the bar in civilian clothes and takes a seat a few away from Selvig, Donald thinks he recognises the man but ignores it.
y/n: Evening.
Selvig: Evening... anyway, Jane's like a daughter to me. Her father and I taught at University together. A good man, but he never listened.
This registers with Donald.
Donald: Neither did I.
Selvig eyes him with interest.
Selvig: I don't know if you're really delusional, and I really don't care at this point. I just care about her. I've seen the way she looks at you.
Donald: I swear to you, I mean her no harm.
Selvig: Good. If that's the case, then I'll buy you one more drink, and you'll leave town tonight.
A long pause, then Donald nods. He takes a drink, y/n is fidgeting, having a hard time acting natural.
Donald: I had it all backwards. I had it all wrong.
Selvig watches him keenly. This is a different Donald than he's seen before.
Selvig: It's not a bad thing, finding out that you don't have all the answers. That's when you start asking the right questions.
Donald takes this in.
Donald: For the first time in my life, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do.
Selvig: Anyone who's ever going to find their way in this world has to start by admitting they don't know where the hell they are.
