Switched Inuyasha x reader

The stone

While Inuyasha went out to hunt some demons. You visted the cave where all this started because of your ever growing curiosity. It was all still the same, of course the environment isn't going to change after a year.

You noticed the stone laying exactly where it had before when you and Kagome stood here. A small feeling of nostalgia found it's way into your chest. The feeling was bitter and cruel as you'd really cherished the friendship you had with her. But it all came crashing down as soon as you and Inuyasha got together.

He'd constantly reassured you that it wasn't your fault and that magic sometimes has no reason of why it did certain things.

But that didn't stop you from picking up the stone. Cold in your palm, not as bad as when you had been cooped up inside the snow beast. The message scribed on it was dull and almost faded.

Tears formed in the corner of your eyes. "Why? Why would you switch our bodies? What could a dumb rock gain from doing so?!" You yelled as you threw it further into the cave. You were happy to be with Inuyasha but why did it have to be at the cost of Kagome's happiness?

Suddenly the stone flashed brightly, you used your arms to shield your eyes from the blinding light. Was it activated again? As the light receeded it was replaced by an image or spirit of Kagome.

Your pupils widened, "Kagome is that-"

"No. It is not Kagome." It's voice even sounded like her. "I am using her image as a way to speak to you since I have no physical appearance or body."

"So...it's the stone speaking to me?"

"Yes."

"Why have you shown yourself to me?"

It lowered itself so that it's feet touched the cave floor. "I can sense all your furious questions raging in your mind. I've shown myself simply because I chose to."

You steeled yourself. "Ok, why did you change us?"

The image of Kagome spread her hands out and answered with. "Because you wished for love when you died and I gave it to you the best way I could."

You froze. "When I....who are you?"

The image of her faltered and shattered apart like a thousand tiny stars. You fell to your knees, "I don't understand." You stared at the ordinary rock.
