I wake up on Jake's shoulder and quickly sit straight. I get off and run out of the cabin. I run home and climb into the window. I quickly crawl into my bed and them my mom opens the door.

"Miranda there's a meeting let's go." My mom announces and then closes the door. I pull the covers off my head. Meeting?

I change into new clothes and brush my hair.
I then run downstairs and my parents stare at me. Hailey is still in her Pajamas.

"Why isn't Hailey changed?" I ask.

"You and your father are going to practice for a meeting." My mom says without looking at me. I make a fist to hold in the anger. Of course she does.

"Let's go to the forest." Mike takes his plate to the sink and I then remember Jake. What if Cassidy forgets to check on him? What if he comes to the forest? He'll probably run away. No, would he?

"Do we have to go to the forest?" I ask.

"Uh, yeah." Mike says obviously.

"But don't you think that's too risky in the morning?" I ask. Mike stares at me curiously.

"I don't think anyone will be around the forest so early." Mike says. Except for that guy that was attacking Jake and I the other day. I have to tell them.

"Mike I-"

"Mike here's some papers about the rogues. I guess you have to know more about them in order to make the big decision." My mom interrupts and gives Mike some papers.

I freeze. "Thanks. Let's go." Mike says. We head out and into the forest.

"So what are we gonna do to solve this?" I ask Mike. Mike stares at the papers.

"Well to start this off, being leader of the pack is very serious. You cannot tell anyone the work we do or the decisions we make, even if that person is part of your pack or family." Mike says.

"But you're telling me." I points out and he shrugs.

"That's because I'm training you." Mike explains. "But that's okay. You can't tell Hailey or your mother about this either. Okay?"

I take a deep breath and consider it. He's my father and leader, he should know what he's doing. I then remember how Cassidy wanted to know about the decision Mike was gonna make.

I nod. "Okay."

"Good. Now, to start with, we have to protect the pack from the rogue. Now we don't know how powerful the rogue can be so we're gonna have to form a powerful group." Mike says.

"But only the boys have completed their training. The girls haven't completed their training." I remind him. We're silent for a moment and Mike stares at a tree. He then snaps his fingers.

"That's it!" Mike says. "Uh, guess your class was short today. Don't tell your mother about this." Mike walks away. Who wouldn't of known that Mike is such a terrible teacher? Wait, than how is he a good role model?

"Miranda?" A voice behind me says. I turn around and see Gus. "Didn't expect to see you here." He says.

I put my hands in my pocket and make a fist again. I tend to do that when I'm mad and nervous. Right now I'm digging my fingernails into my palm.

"Yeah Mike wanted to talk to me about something." I say and turn around to realize he's not there any more.

"Is everything okay?" Gus asks me.

"Yeah don't worry." I look around to make sure no one is watching us for some reason. My palm starts to get sweaty.

"Alright. I trust you. Just tell me why you weren't at school." Gus says.
