Nate walks up to the counter and sits on a stool. Dean follows suit, looking around at the busy cafe.
"So how have you been, my guy?" Nate says, nudging Dean with his elbow.
Dean shrugs, looking down at the counter. The last day and a half had been a horror scene, so he decided it best not to talk about his endeavors.
"Just been saving up for that car before I go to university," Dean muttered.
The waiter came over to them, notepad in hand. Nate smiled widely at the lady, asking for a cup of coffee, pancakes, and fried chicken. Dean managed a small lift of his lips, asking for the same with eggs.
"Well," Nate says, his excitement evident, "I have a big plan in motion right now in my business."
Nate had started a little business downtown about two years before he graduated with his dad, and once he graduated, he took charge. Selling car parts and hair products, he had a wide array of talents on his belt.
"What's the next move," Dean says with a smirk. Nate was always looking for a good bargain, and he had the heart to build a good relationship with everyone he talked to.
"I've been looking into it, and I think that I'm going to invest in chicken farming," Nate says as the waiter places a steaming hot plate of pancakes and chicken in front of him.
Dean chuckles as his plate was set down in front of him, both of their coffee poured.
"I'm serious, dude," Nate says, covering the pancake and chicken in syrup. "I've heard good things about investing in rural farms from some of my investors," he says, cutting into his pancakes.
"Well, I mean that sounds like a fun venture," Dean says, cutting his pancakes dry.
Nate talked most of the meal as Dean listened. Nate bounced his bizarre business ideas off Dean with the occasional nod and laugh from him.
Dean's gaze was drawn toward the door as a red aura walks in. The girl from the other restaurant was now in the cafe. As her aura touched the first customer, her head flew off, blood-spewing onto the others in the booth.
The first scream was heard from the front of the cafe from the others in the booth. Nate looked down the counter, standing up from his stool as Dean looked in horror.
The girl started to skip into the store. As her energy touched the people in the restaurant, they got ripped to shreds. Blood and limbs flew in the air as she hummed.
Her eyes set on Dean, flaring bright red as her smile grew wide.
"Where is the Lord?" she says, her voice echoing, demonic and deep.
Dean fell out of his seat, looking at the carnage in horror. Nate stood frozen in place as the girl neared. As she grew near, she floated up to Nate and touched his face. Where she touched blood started to drip, a wicked smile spreading across her face as she looks at Dean.
"Your friend?" she says, her claws latching onto his face.
Dean watches in horror as her long claws crushed his head. A giggle comes out as she licks the blood off her fingers.
"Where is he?" she asks, floating over to Dean. He scrambles back, looking for a way out.
"I can smell him on you," her eyes flaring red, "I could never forget that smell."
"The smell of the empty abyss and death," her smile turning into a scowl. "He took my undead soul and made me this."
He says as her form changed from a little girl to a horrifying undead woman, her skin bone dry and eyes sunken pupils.
As she neared him, Dean began to feel his head throbbing. The pain got increasingly worse as she got closer. He tried to keep his eyes, but he couldn't help himself as he let out a shattering scream.
The world grew silent, the pain in his head slowly receding. As he opened his eyes, he looked upon a dark world. Still in the cafe, but there were no people, and the demonic little girl was gone too.
Dean stood up, looking around. He felt a warmth coming from inside his jacket pocket, pulling out the Gold and black book he had summoned yesterday. The pages were shining.
He opened the book to see a page he could read. But the message on it was anything but helpful.
'The Lord of All Darkness has been summoned; you are the conduit. will you allow the world to be swallowed, or will you be its savior?'
Dean sucks in a deep breath as he remembered what the dragon said. What the hell was he supposed to do about a rampaging mad man with supernatural powers? He puts the book back into his jacket with a deep sigh.
Dean walks out of the cafe, not wanting to be anywhere near that homicidal hag. He walked down the street, the world devoid of all color and light.
The outline of objects there, but the objects themselves not seeming to have any substance.
As he walked down the street, suddenly he heard the screech of wheels. Looking behind him, he saw a bright green car speeding down the road, followed by two red ones. The first sign of life Dean saw, he watched as they sped past him. One of the red cars came to a halt in front of him while the other sped after the green car.
A man dressed in a red suit got out of the car. He walked around the car to Dean, a smirk on his face.
"So I see you slipped into the Unseen," the man says, holding his hand out.
"I'm Sadon," his eyes flaring red as his smile widened.
Dean shook his hand reluctantly, "I'm Dean."
"Well as you can see I was just in the middle of a turf chase so if you'll excuse me," Sadon says, walking towards his car.
"Wait," Dean says, "How do I get out of this place?"
Sadon turns around with a confused look on his face. "Well now that you ask," his eyes growing dark for a second, "I have no idea."
"Your best bet is to find your Gagi and join a clan," Sadon says, pulling out a red card and holding it out.
Dean takes the card. "I have a weird book," he says, "what else do I need?"
"Well most of us have a wand or something if you get into this realm of the unseen," he points at his car. "If you have that you can create stuff in this substanceless world."
Dean remembered the metal case and the black twig then, and how it was locked.
"Let me know if you want to see what I and my guys are up to," Sadon says.
Sadon jumped back into the car, leaving Dean standing there with more questions than answers.
