Richard floated around in the empty. He had walked what felt like forever, and when he got to the bottom, there were no more steps. His body hesitated, but Erebus had told him to go to the bottom, so he took the last step and had been falling ever since. He was beginning to lose the last of his light, and that's when the pains started.
Pains in his hands, feet, and head throbbed, but he couldn't move to stop it, the pain growing impossible, but unconsciousness would not take him.
He writhed in the Abyss for what felt another eternity until, eventually, the pain in his extremities stopped, and the hunger pages began. When the pain became ravenous, a light opened in the abyss, Richard swimming through it. As he fell through, his only thought was 'Feed,' as he fell right into the middle of the Council room for the Council of Light.
