I Don't Wanna Hook Up

I was now in class bored out of my mind waiting for break. I was tapping my pencil on my desk having no idea what the teacher was saying. I don't think anyone was. Some people were chewing gum, passing notes, even whispering to their partners. I was in math class, the worst subject. I had English next which was my favorite since we read stories and give us books for free.

Only 1 more minute, common, common!....... YESS. I immediately got up and went towards the door. I bumped into a few people on my way out. At snack time I like to go on the benches and eat my candy, or chips. There's a bunch of people here at school since it's middle schoolers and high school students. I was in the middle of drawing sage when I heard someone call my name

"Hey, millie!" I looked up and saw ponyboy. "Hey ponyboy" I greeted the boy. "Mind if I sit here?" He asked. "Yea of course!" I told him to move to give him some space to sit. "You know, you're not as mean as I thought," he said looking at me in confusion. "And why's that," I asked. "Dally said 'she's a little devil I swear'" he began. "Why would he think that?" He questioned me. "We used to make fun I each other back when he was in school, I thought he got over it, guess not" I told him chuckling.

"That's why your not so scared of him..... no one really talks to dal that way" he informed. "Well...he doesn't seem as scary, plus I'm sure he wouldn't hurt a woman," I said. "Ya, I guess.... if you don't mind me asking, what did you guys make fun of each other for?" He was curious to know. "Well, he used to call me bunny, because of my teeth, and I would make fun of his hair" explained. " ya he did have long hair," he said laughing.

"We would also prank each other, it started when I made him fall right on his face in front of everyone in the cafeteria" I shared laughing. I was having such a good conversation I didn't even notice the people staring at us. I guess ponyboy started to notice too" they act like a soc and greaser talking is like the most illegal thing in the world," I told him looking back at my notebook.

"Ya" ponyboy looked back at her and noticed the picture on the page. "Hey what's that?" He asked her. "Oh, nothing just a drawing," she told him. "That's cool, can I see it?" He asked. She nodded and passed him the notebook. He looked at the picture and asked. "what's this?" I forgot he didn't know. "That's sage, my pet ferret" I explained. "That's what you were talking about, at the gas station" I nodded. He flipped thru my other drawings. "You drew cherry, and Marcia?" He asked.

"Yup, I asked them and they said ya". He stopped at an unfamiliar face. "Who's this?" He asked. He showed me the page of my mom. "That's my mom" I replied. His face formed into a sad face the moment I said that. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Nothing" he replied, I didn't by it. "Are you sure?" He nodded. Ring I heard. "I'll see you later, pony" I told him gathering my stuff.

"If you need something tell me alright," she told him. She wasn't convinced he was fine. She walked to class, and hoped the class would end fast.

Once class was over I really wanted to go home. I got in my car and saw ponyboy walk by. "Ponyboy!" I yelled. He turned around smiled when he was me. He walked towards me. "Want me to drive you home?" I asked him. He seemed shocked from what I had just asked. "Well?". "Oh uh, sure" he said. I smiled at him and opened the passenger door. "Where to?" I asked

He told me his address and started driving away. It was pretty quiet the way there. We made a bit of conversation then stopped. We got to his house. "Thank you" he said. "No problem, tell me when you need a ride" I said waving at him as he walked to his house. I really didn't mind giving him a ride. He's nice.

I was waiting at a red light, when I heard some knock harshly at my window. I turned and saw him. "Open the door!" I heard him thru the door. I smirked and shooked my head slowly. "Say please" I told him. He glared at me but didn't say it. "The lights gonna go green!" I addressed. The light turned orange. "Please!" He yelled.

"I unlocked the door, and he went in right not time. I started driving. "What the hell were you doing," I asked him. "Tim was looking for me" he answered casually. "Why didn't you go to another car?" I asked. "Because..." he said not answering my question. "Because...what?" I asked him slowly. "Ugh, I don't know, bunny teeth," he said annoyed. "I'm just asking, ugh what is it asshole day " I asked. He gave me a look.

"I was being nice today, okay," I told him. He rolled his eyes. "Where do I go," I asked. "Uh, I don't know," he said. "What do you mean you don't know," I asked. "I can't go to bucks because Tim's gonna look for me there!" He answered. "Then where are you gonna go?" I asked. "I don't know," he said. He looked kinda stressed. I feel bad.... no you don't feel bad! "Wanna go to my house?" I asked. WHAT ARE YOU DOING My insides thought. "What?" He asked. I signed, "if you wanna come to my house" I muttered.

"Look I'm not tryna be mean but I don't want to hook up, I-" I cut him off. "No, no, nooooo, ew , I'm asking, just till you figure out what to do with Tim, that's gross!" I explained. "Oh common, don't act like you don't want me". "I'd rather date randy," I told him. "Anyway, why would you help me?" He asked in a suspicious voice. "Fine sleep on the streets, I'm just offering," I told him. "Wait!...... I'll go," he said, the last part quietly"

I want her to have a good relationship with ponyboy, that's why he's in this chapter
