He Can't Get A Chick !

I am just getting out of school. I don't have tons of homework to do, but they left me math.

The worst

I had my books and my bag.

Everyone else is already gone, I had to stay after class for a while because I have a C in math.

Better than an F.

I think a C is just fine.

I went inside my car and saw that I was low on gas.

I got out of my car and got greeted by steve.

"Hey, millie!" He said.

"Hey Steve, do you mind if you pump some gas for my car," I told him smiling.

"Sure thing," he said smiling at me.

"Hey, millie!" I heard someone say"

"Hey, two-bit!" I said giving him a side hug.

"Whatcha doing here?" He asked.

"Just getting some gas," I told him.

He nodded.

"Hey ponyboy," I said to the boy.

"Hey," he said upset.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"He can't get a chick!" Two-bit said laughing.

Ponyboy didn't say anything he just gave two a look.

"That true pony," I ask.

"No!"

"Who is it?" I ask.

"No one," he said.

"It's the one redhead soc!" Two said.

"Shut up two!"

"Sherri?" I said smiling.

He stayed quiet.

I chuckled.

"Cars done!" Steve said.

I gave them all a small hug.

"Tell soda and darry I said hi!"  I said getting into my car.

"Sure"

"Will do"

"Oh, ponyboy!" I said.

He looked up.

"If you need girl advice tell me," I said.

He rolled his eyes while Steve and two laughed.

I decided to go to the book store since I'm running out of books and I have nothing else to do. 

I went inside the store.

I saw someone familiar.

Dallas

I suddenly felt nervous.

Why am I nervous?

He was looking at the records.

I guess he noticed someone staring.

He slowly turned around and we met eyes.

We just kinda stood there awkwardly.

We both shuffled on our feet until I walked towards the books.

I walked back.

"Hi Mr, Jones" I greeted.

"Hello Misses Lawrence" he greeted

"It's millie," I said rolling my eyes and smiling.

"Ya, ya," he said chuckling.

Dallas just kinda stood there. He didn't want to get too close to her. But he didn't want to stay away from her either. He was just planning to ignore her from now on.

I went back to check out the books. I found a book 'Matilda'. (It was actually published in 1988, but whatever)

I looked at the price.

$10.99.

Dallas looked over to find her looking through her bag for money. 

"Shit," she said putting the book back.

She sighed and left the store with a goodbye for 'Mr. Jones'.

I looked at the book.

I put it in my jacket and casually walked out of the store.

She wasn't very far away.

I ran over to her.

"Here bunny teeth," I said giving her the book.

She looked at it and her eyes widened

"You gonna take it or not"

She smirked and took it.

"Did you steal it or buy it?" she asked still smirking.

I didn't say anything.

She smiled.

"Thank you, " she said.

"Your welcome," he said in a low voice.

They both walked away.

Little did Dallas know.

Millie had butterflies in her stomach.
