For Ahsoka, the school day wrapped up quickly. As the final bell of the day rang, Ahsoka waved good-bye to her Biology teacher, Mrs. Secura. Mrs. Secura had a sheet of long green hair pulled back in pigtails and wore a simple brown outfit. Mrs. Secura was one of Ahsoka's favorite teachers in the school and was always kind to her and offered her "words of wisdom" to the class before the beginning of the lesson.

Unfortunately, Lux was also in the class. As Ahsoka began walking through the crowd of students leaving the decorated classroom, he caught up with her. "So, Ahsoka, what are you doing after school?" he asked, smoothing back his ridiculous hair.

"I have plans," she said with a forced smile as she walked away. She internally gagged with disgust as he kept walking.

"You could, uh, maybe cancel those plans?" Lux asked hopefully as he struggled to keep up with her, bumping into some extremely angry older students. Ahsoka spotted Saw Gerrera, brother of Steela Gerrera, who she assumed Lux had a crush on before she had moved to Coruscant Heights. Ahsoka tried to play a different card.

"Uh, listen, I heard that Steela's back in the game for dating. And a little birdie told me that she was looking to get back together with y-o-u," she lied with an internal smirk, spelling out the last word so Lux heard every single letter.

"S-She is?" Lux asked with a stupid grin on his face. He scratched his chin in what Ahsoka believe he assumed was a thoughtful way and then said, "Okay."

"Great, I'll tell her!" Ahsoka said with a half-forced and half-genuine smile as she left Lux behind and walked out of the school building. She spotted the girls and Rex and quickly hurried over them before Lux could find her again.

"How was the day?" Bo asked the group. It was simple courtesy, the others knew. They couldn't talk about the topics they liked to discuss (such as Rex, Lux, and Ahsoka's love triangle that Rex and Ahsoka didn't really like speaking about) until they were off-campus and out of earshot of anyone they knew.

"As good as school could ever be," Fennec said as they began to walk down the sidewalk. They all agreed that what Fennec said was the truth, no matter how it was put. To get to their area, they unfortunately had to pass through the other high school in the area. That would be Separatist High.

The Separatist High School was nicknamed "The Malevolence" and was a sleek silvery-black. A group of simple-minded kids all dressed in tan or grey were talking in slightly robotic voices. They were basically clones of each other. Ahsoka only heard two words as they walked by. "Roger, roger," said one of the kids and they all laughed in their strange voices.

Ahsoka rolled her eyes and muttered the name for all of the Seppies, as they were nicknamed by the Fett brothers and the name had caught on fast. "Droids," she said under her breath so that only Rex could hear. He smiled thinly. He and his brothers had some bad run-ins with the Seppies before. They may have been stupid, but their numbers made up for it.

They walked away and eventually made their way to an open park. It was far enough away from their neighborhoods so that any family wouldn't see them. The grass was cut, but it was better on a warm day instead of the dark grey and cloudy skies that could be seen that afternoon. There was a billowing willow tree in the middle of it that was fun to climb when they were bored.

Ahsoka began climbing it and was quickly followed by Bo-Katan and Ursa. The willow bark was rough, but Ahsoka hardly felt it because she had climbed it so many times. The rest of the group went off to the nearby café for food.

"So are you going to try out for the volleyball team this year?" Bo-Katan asked Ahsoka as they settled in. She glanced uncomfortably down and eventually shook her head no. "Why?" Ahsoka loved volleyball, and she was pretty good at it too. Ahsoka had only been living in the area for a year and in her junior year, Bo had suggested she try out. Ahsoka said no. She had her reasons.

"Erm, I don't know," Ahsoka lied. Ursa and Bo-Katan both glared right through her. Ahsoka sighed and let out a breath. "Okay, well I still haven't Anakin about..." she trailed off.

"Why you live with him?" Bo finished. Ahsoka nodded miserably. She hated talking about it, and it always brought tears to her eyes when she just thought about it. It was secret that not even Rex knew- only her mom knew.

"He's never asked why the Skywalker family adopted me, but it's only a matter of time, you know. But if I do volleyball- well, let's just say there's a pretty high chance of getting hurt. And I'm really not ready Anakin to know what happened that day," Ahsoka said. She knew it was true. The teams and competition with schools like Separatist High, Rebellion High School, and Resistance High School got pretty rough. There was a rivalry with the other nearby areas, like Yavin Borough.

"So your holding yourself back because there's a chance you might get hurt?" Ursa challenged sharply. Her amber eyes were cold and hard, a trait Ahsoka saw a lot in Sabine when they had been neighbors.

"It's not that," Ahsoka tried to protest, before admitting the truth. "Okay, fine it's that. I just don't want my brother to know before I'm ready," she explained. The others nodded knowingly because they all had secrets that they didn't really want to share with their families until they were ready.

"Come down! Food!" called Koska as she and Rex came back carrying food and coffee. Ahsoka leapt down, landing on her feet. She took her coffee from Rex's hands and the heat of the mug warmed her up as she began to sip it, the rich smell of the coffee beans filling her nose.

It was getting colder and colder as they stood in silence, eating and drinking as the sky got darker and darker, swirling with grey clouds. Just as Ahsoka was reaching for a small chocolate-chip cookie that her mother would probably not liked her to eat right after school, she smelled something sharp.

It was semi-sweet, but still bitter. She recognized it and shook her head, smiling. Falling from the sky like teardrops, rain splattered against her dyed hair as she laughed and covered herself with her backpack.

She'd missed the rain all summer long, and maybe the sign of rain meant that things could be finally going in the right direction.
