"You're the one who change the subject before we could talk about it more," Dream just wanted to go to sleep, to think of the George who would have said yes without a second thought.
Why was he being so hesitant?
"But tell me why you're so hesitant about this first, before you say yes. Or no. Before you say anything else."
"I'm scared." There was a long silence. Dream was suddenly wide awake, breath caught in his throat. Scared?
"Of what, George."
"That I'm not going to be everything you think I am." Oh. Oh.
"I doubt it, George. You're my favorite part of everyday, the light in most dark places. I doubt it."
George's breath was heavy on the other line.
