"that's definitely not what he was going to ask gi, maya says as she, gina, nini, ashlyn and seb continued walking around the mall

"why not? you were talking about angry birds weren't you?" gina asks nini, who nodded

"i think he was going to ask her out," ashlyn says

"why would he do that?" nini questions unconvinced

"well, you guys were alone, in the kitchen, talking and having fun - which were proud of you for." seb chuckles

"oh! and he likes fries in his burger," nini smiles to herself

"i already explained to you neens," maya sighs "i prefer to keep my fries and dip them in a milkshake."

"same here," gina adds

"so, you didn't-maybe-text him or something?" ashlyn asks nini

the girl shakes her head vigorously "i'm lucky enough that i didn't fall in front of him or said anything stupid."

"you really need to be more confident in yourself," seb sighs "the only guy you've ever spoken your mind to is ricky,"

"yeah, but that doesn't count cause ricky's my best friend, we'd never go for each other," nini laughs

"sometimes i wish you both would date, then he'd stop being annoying to me," maya mutters

"it's cause he likes you," ashlyn sings

maya shakes her head with a smile "he does not like me-"

"oh please, i've seen ricky flirt with girls since middle school, you're definitely the girl he's going for now," nini chuckles

everyone laughs and head into a store as they head off in different directions, ashlyn seb and gina together at the end of the store and maya and nini staying around the entrance

"oo, what do you think?" maya asks, taking a pair of earrings and putting them up towards her ear

nini nods "yeah, you can wear them when you go on a date with ricky,"

maya's smile dropped and she put the earrings away "okay, i'm not getting those-"

"em i'm kidding!" nini laughs, taking the earrings and handing them to her

"he doesn't like me," maya tells her, continuing her way around the shop with nini

"see, everyone knows that's not true," nini grins, looking through a rack of clothes "come on em, he's liked you since middle school."

maya shakes her head with a smile "i miss talking about you and lucas,"

"only because you know i'm right," nini sings before the two laugh and head over towards the others, continuing with their shopping.

"no!" seb groans in annoyance as carlos placed a plus four card for him

"sorry bub," carlos smiles innocently

they all chuckle and continue playing as lucas glances at ricky

"yes lucas?" the curly-haired boy asks, knowing his friend all too well

"huh?"

"well, you seemed like you wanted to ask something," ricky elaborates

"oh! drama yes! spill," kourtney squeals along with carlos and seb as they put their cards down

ej raises his eyebrows "am i the only one who thinks that it's probably private-"

"shut up ej!" carlos scolds, making the raven-haired boy put his hands up in defense as they all look at lucas

"i-i was just going to ask-uh-" lucas swallows "how are things going with you and maya?"

ricky shakes his head with a grin "sure you were-"

"ricky, you've liked her since middle school." seb says matter-of-factly

"well i'm going to kill nini," he mutters "look, lucas is the one who was too chicken to ask nini out-"

"i was not 'chicken'" lucas defends "red walked in-"

"i'm sorry i'm not a mind reader." big red chuckles

"i've come to the conclusion that i'm surrounded by a bunch of boneheads who are too afraid to do anything," kourtney tells seb and carlos, who nod in response

"plus, it's obvious you and maya have a thing going on," carlos says to ricky

"nothings been happening. she's hated me for ages," ricky says with a light smirk
