15. convinced

nini opened the door to lucas, seeing a bright smile on his face and holding two grocery bags

"wow you weren't kidding," nini chuckles as he sets them on the counter

he nods with a grin "i take food very seriously,"

nini shakes her head with a smile and gasps happily as she takes out a packet of dill pickle chips

"how did you know?!" she asks excitedly

"well, i called ricky at the store," he says simply "he knows you the best so-"

nini's smile falters at the mention of ricky but she regains herself as she clears her throat "uh-do you want something to drink?"

lucas shakes his head, not noticing the difference in her composure as they both make their way to the living room and she puts the tv on

"you're home alone?" lucas asks

nini nods "yeah, maya and gina went to the grocery store,"

"oh okay," he says as she sits down next to him "okay, i'm team edward i'm saying that now."

"why? cause he's british?" nini smirks, making him chuckle

he shakes his head with a smile and they both continue watching the movies together, not realizing both of them falling asleep soon enough, nini with her head on his shoulder and his head resting on hers.

nini slowly woke up an hour later to find herself in lucas' arms, blushing slightly as she glances up at him with a small smile.

"lucas." she whispers

he shifts around on the couch before opening his eyes and looking down at her with a smile

"hey," he says with a husky voice

she giggles and they both sit up, stretching before seeing that the movie was over

"well, there goes our marathon," he jokes, running his hand through his hair

nini laughs softly and they hold eye-contact before he glances down at her lips and starts to lean in slowly

she closed her eyes, waiting for their lips to meet before they both jump back at the sound of the door bursting open

"okay! we brought pizza for dinner-oh!"

maya and gina raise their eyebrows when seeing snacks on the table and lucas and nini seated on their living room couch, a smirk forming on maya's face

"well- i guess you've got company," she says

nini and lucas blush furiously and chuckle nervously as he gets up

"i'm-i have to get going," he tells them before turning to nini "i had fun."

nini smiles warmly at him "me too."

he grins and turns back, walking past maya and gina and out of the apartment, the two girls turning around to face nini

"i'm-gonna go get some sleep," she says awkwardly, getting up from the couch and heading into her room before they could stop her.
