Louis couldn't fucking believe it. A month ago he was living a boring, normal life with his mum and siblings in Doncaster. He played soccer and hung out with friends. Then his dad called out of the blue and wanted him to come for a visit. His dad hadn't exactly earned the dad of the year award. He hadn't heard from him in almost a year. He agreed, stupid of him, but he was his dad after all. He told his mum where he was going. His dad had disappeared and resurfaced in his life for as long as he could remember. This was how it always had been and they were used to it. His younger siblings had another dad, a better one. Louis had taken his surname too. He had always been there for him.

He drove over and knocked on the door and what happened next still confused him. His dad pulled him inside and bit him, like actually sunk his teeth in his neck. He passed out and the next thing he knew he woke up, with this strange craving for blood and his dad proudly announced that he had done him a huge favor and turned him into a vampire. He laughed at first, but as time went by he realized that his dad was telling him the truth. His whole life was turned upside down. He couldn't go home to his mum. He didn't want to risk doing this to his family. So here he was now, with a fit of deep anger towards his dad and on his way to some kind of secret boarding school where he would be taught to control his urges. His life was a mess. Life? He was immortal now. That thought alone blew his fucking mind. He would be 18 forever.

Learning that there weren't just vampires out there, living side by side with humans, but all sorts of creatures, the ones he had read about in fairytales as a child was hard to grasp. He was still in a bit of a shock, to be honest. He wasn't really sure if his dad was just bullshitting but he guessed he would find out soon enough. He was relieved that he was attending a school where he would learn how to be a vampire, despite how much he hated school. In his old school, some kids had teased him for being gay. He wondered how many other gay vampires there were?

One thing was sure, he needed all the help he could get to master this. The urge for blood, his new anger issues, to control his fangs that just popped out whenever they felt like it, and probably a hundred more things that he wasn't aware of yet.

His mum had handled it well, all consider. He had called her and explained what was happening to him. She laughed it off at first but he was persistent and swore in everything holy to him that he was telling her the truth. It wasn't until she showed up at his dad's house to bring him home that she finally believed him. Well, the fangs might have had something to do with it, or the red eyes he was displaying, after just drinking a bottle of fake blood. His mum cried for his sake but she stayed out in the sunlight for her own safety, at least until he informed her that was just a myth and that she should go before he couldn't control himself anymore. Thank God his dad was on one of his meetings, with the Adult Vampire Group, for the ones who got turned later in life. His dad had told him that he got dragged into an alley six months ago after a night out and got turned.

He has managed to get home without hurting anyone, well except the neighbor's cat, unfortunately. He had hit Google, searching for answers, writing on different sites, and somehow his cry for help had been picked up by someone who took him seriously. Another vampire had shown up and told him everything he needed to know, and that was that.

Louis had no fucking idea why his dad thought that he was giving him a gift by turning him into a vampire. It was a fucking nightmare! A curse! Everyone he loved would die eventually and he would be there for all of it. Everyone except his dad and he hated him for it. He hadn't been around that much while they were both humans. Did he for a second believe that Louis would want to spend an eternity with him? He could go to hell. He even had the audacity to tell him that he just turned him into Peter Pan, knowing how much Louis loved that story growing up. Great, now he hated Peter Pan as well. He would never forgive his dad for this. He would spend an eternity resenting him.

His dad had at least done one thing right, getting him into this school. It was a prestigious school, hard to get in. Louis wasn't surprised at all that his father had managed to get him in. He had always been an elitist.

He was about to enter a whole new world, one he didn't even know existed a month ago. To say he was just nervous was an understatement. He was freaking terrified! This whole magical creature world scared the hell out of him. He had no idea where he would fit in.

The only thing he knew was that he would never hurt another human. He would do anything in his power to learn how to control his urges and if that didn't work he would light himself on fire. Vampire stories must have some grain of truth to them, right? He really hoped so.
