"Hey Nick, wait up!" Louis shouted as he ran after him and Eleanor in the empty corridor.

The two other vampires turned around.
"Hi, Louis." Eleanor cooed and better her eyelashes.

"Yeah hi, so I have a question. Theoretically, if you would like a way to make sure your fangs won't pop out when they really shouldn't, ehm, like if you're kissing someone for example. Is there a way to do that?" Louis asked, feeling embarrassed.

"Are you finally gonna ask me out?" Eleanor asked with a flirty smile.

"Ehm, no. Sorry. Is there?" Louis asked again.

Eleanor looked grumpy but he had sparked an interest with Nick.
"Who are you kissing?"

"That's none of your business." Louis answered.

"Fair. Well, that's something a wizard can help you with. They can make a potion. If they're skillful, that is." Nick said, sounding amused.

"Really? How would that work?" Louis asked?

'Well, it kind of suppresses your urges for half an hour." Nick explained with a shoulder shrug.

"Do you know someone who can make that kind of potion?" Louis asked.

Maybe. What do I get in return?" Nick asked.

"What do you want?" Louis retorted.

"Join our group." Nick immediately answered.

"We can hang out but I'm not gonna help you take over the school." Louis replied.

"Too bad." Nick chuckled and turned around to leave.

"Wait! I can tell you who turned you." Louis said.

Both Nick and Eleanor snapped their heads back and stared at him.
"How do you know that?" Eleanor asked.

"I can't be 100 percent sure but I'm pretty convinced that we all have the same maker and I know who it is." Louis said.

"Well, that changes things. I'll have to potion tomorrow." Nick said.

"I just want you to know that I'm taking care of it. He's gonna pay for what he has done to us." Louis tried to calm them. He felt like dickhead for not revealing his dad's name now but he desperately needed that potion. He was a man in love. He could have asked Zayn to do it, but he suspected that the potion might not be legal and he didn't want to put his friend in trouble.

Nick and Eleanor shared a look.
"Just meet us in the bathroom you destroyed before our first class tomorrow." Nick said.

"How do you know about that?" Louis questioned.

"Words travel fast here." Nick smirked.

He would keep that in mind from now on. It was time for lunch, so he rushed to the cafeteria so his friends wouldn't start to worry. He was the last one to arrived and grabbed a bottle of fake blood on his way over. Zayn and Liam were sitting at the table as well. As soon as he took a seat Liam leaned in to whisper.
"They have your dad under surveillance. They need to catch him in the act, sort of speak."

"Why? I can testify." Louis whispered back.

"It will be your word against his." Liam answered.

They just ate lunch after that and small talked. Louis knew that their table was unique in the school. All around them the students were eating with their mutuals. If they would do the same he had to sit with Nick and Eleanor and he didn't want that. Poor Niall would be all alone. Louis was a little surprised that Liam was with them. He usually sat with the rest of the werewolves. He guessed their mutual enemy, also known as his father, changed that, but he was glad. He kind of liked Liam even if they were natural enemies and whatnot. He had even gotten used to his stench.

One of his absolute favorite subjects took place after lunch, Laws, and rules for magical creatures.  Ten minutes into the class he raised his hand.
"Mrs. Davis, I have a question."

"Yes, dear?" the fairy said.

"How about mixed marriages? Can you marry someone outside your own race?" Louis asked and the other students looked at him funny.

"That's a complex question. It's legal in most countries, but our cultural preferences say otherwise. It's not exactly accepted in our societies." Mrs. Davis answered.

That was discouraging.
"But it happens?"

"Occasionally, it's not common but of course it happens." Mrs. Davis answered.

Well, that was at least something. It wasn't like he was gonna propose to Harry anytime soon but he wanted to keep him safe. If their relationship had been against the law he would have had to end it before it even started so Harry wouldn't be charged or something. Now he just had to get that potion so he could kiss him without risking turning him into a vampire.

The rest of the school day went by pretty fast. He had two classes with Harry in the afternoon and then he had to meet his teacher Magnus for extra tutoring. He was actually happy about it. He had to learn to control his temper.
"Welcome, Louis. Controlling your emotions are a lot like controlling your thirst or your body. It's all about willpower, but you have to find the right motivation. Now, your blood thirst is something you're getting good at controlling. Why?" Magnus asked.

"I don't want to kill anyone." Louis answered.

"A vampire with a heart. That's uncommon." Magnus said.

"Really? Does that mean that you have killed someone? Fuck, sorry. You don't have to answer that." Louis blurted out.

Magnus smirked.
"I have lived forever. As a Viking I was ruthless and we haven't always had the laws that we have today or the supplements. I miss the good old days."

Great. His teacher was an evil badass. Louis gulped.
"At least you learned how to control it so that gives me hope in your teaching skills."

"Good. Let's begin." Magnus said.

Louis was absolutely drained when he returned to his dorm an hour later.  Harry met him by the door, all smiling and gorgeous.
"I missed you."

That was all he needed to feel energetic again. Whenever he was around Harry he forgot everything else and the fairy made him feel good about himself. He didn't care that he was a vampire and he didn't think about immortality. He just stayed in the present.
"Hi, Love. I missed you too."
