Happy reading!

"It's alright. I'm here," Natsu patted Lucy's back gently. But the thing is, Lucy right now is more afraid of Erza wrath than their current situation.

"You'll be fine," and in the blink of an eye, he brought out a gun slowly dropping low with Lucy still in her arm. Lucy didn't even have time to ask where that gun came from when another loud sound of a gunshot rang, this time near them. The enemy seemed to draw nearer.

"Close your ears," Natsu whispered. She followed his word, obediently pressing her palm to her earlobe. Natsu shoots.

The ringing in their ears stays for a few seconds, and Natsu shoots a few others, followed by a few groans from the enemy. He never missed. Lucy saw how he shot twice for each man; in a minute, four-man dropped down motionless. The other people seemed frantic and started to shoot aimlessly. The sound of a gunshot rang on both sides.

"Shit, we need a distraction. I can't hold them back much longer. My bullet is running out," he muttered.

"Then what now?"

"Ahhh...I wished I bring it with me- Oh wait!" Yes, he did bring a grenade with him

Mini grenade, but that was back in the small storage compartment strapped to his motorbike. How are they supposed to go back?

"Dammit! OK Luce, look at me." He stopped firing for a moment pulling Lucy arm to face him. Lucy, who was still stunned with everything, quickly regained her focus.

"Did you see the path there? " There's a path in the forest, opposite side of the enemy. Natsu continues his word after he sees her nod while tinkering with his ring.

" I'll count to three, and I need you to run follow the path straight," he could sense worries etched on her perfect face, and he tried to reassure her again.

"I'll be right behind you, trust me. Just run and don't look back," another bullet whizzed through, nearly hitting the hiding pair. Not wanting to drag Natsu down, she nodded frantically. The pink-haired male shot another shot, and another body fell. From his ring, he produced another bullet. This time, the bullet steel was painted orange.

"Three," he reloaded his gun with that bullet, cast another look on Lucy, nodded affirmed.

"Two"

"One! Go!" and Lucy started to run straight to the path. A few bullets nearly grazed her, and she felt so thankful when she heard running steps right behind her. Natsu followed her closely. As soon as she got into the forest, he made a stop and turned abruptly. Gripping the handle of his gun, he shot the final bullet.

A shot rang out louder than the other as soon as the bullet grazed the soil on their enemy side; an explosion happened. Big enough to distract their enemy, who either fell back from the impact or chose to lay down amid chaos.

Lucy didn't even have time to get shocked when a warm palm entangled with her and pulling her to run along. The pair ran through the forest, and finally, they saw the red Ducati parked at the same place. No other vehicles or enemies were spotted.

Lucy finally found a time to breathe when Natsu stopped.

"What the hell did y-" she didn't manage to finish her sentence when the male next to her suddenly tugged Lucy's neck (gently), leaned in, and kissed her.

The adrenaline from the previous incident rushed in as they pressed their lips together. Lucy finger-combed his surprisingly soft hair as they breathe each other in.

When they part, both were confused for a while. A pair of caramel chocolate eyes met a set of onyx; they seemed to be in their world.

"I wanted to kiss you more, but we're running out of time," Natsu bluntly said. His sharp hearing caught the sound of footsteps approaching. He saw how the blonde blushed furiously and grinned while putting on a helmet for her.

"Here, help me throw this when I signal them for you. I'm sure you know how to handle this," the thing Natsu handed her was a small grenade he pulled from the small compartment on his motorbike.

"I know you can handle them," and he started his motorbike engine, scoffing at Lucy's gaping mode. The blonde was left with questions but she immediately followed. The grenade felt heavy in her hands but somehow it was familiar. Of course, it feels familiar she was trained to use them.

The superbike accelerate on the road and the guys pursuing them cursed under their breath. Half a minute later Lucy saw a group of black-tinted cars parked carelessly on the side of the road. There's no one left to guard. And that's when Natsu signalled her. At that time they were at the right distance away from the car.

"Now!" Lucy pulled the pin and throw the grenade away. It rolled under one of the cars. A few seconds after that an explosion went off shaking the ground beneath them. There's a chain explosion coming from the other cars.

Lucy sighed feeling the impact and surrounding heat on her back, but it wasn't enough to burn her. Natsu lets out a burst of boisterous laughter. Feeling infected with his laughs she too started laughing as she hugged the warm figure's waist. The adrenaline is now gone left with a feeling of relief.

"You useless!"

"But boss! She- she was with the Salamander!"

"Huh? Salamander?"

"Yes! We're sure of that. He has spiky pink hair, and he shot most of our men,"

"That's right, boss! That person's bullet can explode. It bombed all of our cars too!"

"The only person with such skill and weapon... I'm sure it's the Slayer boss Natsu!"
