Sorry for waiting. Last year was hectic...or shall we call it chaotic?

I was too busy with classes and everything just went down. But the year passed in the blink of an eye.

I lost this account and panicked for a while. Even now I can't log in using the apps on my phone. Luckily I saved my password in my google account. I saved them yet I can't open them on my phone...just pc. So I had to create another account so at least I can read stories without needing to open my pc.

Anyways....here's the new chap. Enjoy!

The motorbike stopped on a small dark road.

"Umm...Natsu, are you sure this is the right place?" She was looking around and slightly shuddered when she saw shrubbery/forest around them.

If somehow this man standing in front of her was an enemy, she didn't know whether she could fight him off. She didn't even bring any weapon. How careless!

'Make sure you'll stay home. We don't know when they'll attack,' Erza's warning

"Don't worry. It's safe. Just trust me. Let's go," somehow, Lucy couldn't find it in her heart that doubt was never there. This man exudes warmth. She felt like if she stayed with him, then nothing would befall her.

The pair sat there for almost an hour. Silence enveloped them but not in an awkward way. Both were feeling comfortable in each other's presence.

"I might not have a chance to be here again after this," heaving out a sigh, she muttered.

"Why?"

"I kinda have a family problem, so we might have to go back and stay there for a while," or she might now even come back anymore. But she shook the negative feeling away.

"You'll be back, right?"

"Natsu I- mig-"

"You'll be back. Safe and sound." This time his tone is absolute. As if he had this confidence that she'll certainly be back.

Flashback

Natsu was sitting in his office; a stack of documents was in front of him. The door to his office opened abruptly, and he looked up to see the same eerily same spiked hair as his. Gray's face passed by with a cringe written over his face. The man entered waved his hand to signal he wanted a private talk with his son.

"I have an important task for you," He started and with that threw a bunch of papers and pictures.

Natsu felt his heart dropped when he saw the very familiar face in the photographs. He stood up immediately. Some papers and pens clattered down in his rush. His hand clammed and shook with anxiety. How did his father know Lucy?

Meanwhile, Dragneel seemed amused with his antics. A slight smirk plastered on his face.

"Lucy Heartfilia. Ring a bell?"

Heartfilia? Isn't this another Underground famiglia?

"Yes, Hearfilia as in Jude Heartfilia. I didn't need to explain a lot to you, I guess. She's in danger....." and slowly, all the gears started turning. Dragneel explained everything to Natsu, who stood there dumbfounded.

"Jude was one of my friends, and I intended to protect his only daughter. I heard that you're pretty close to her. You know what to do, right?" There's a glint of danger in the older man's eyes, a warning.

"En understood. Even without you telling me, I will protect her with everything I got,"

Chocolate orbs met onyx which stared back at her with this earnest look that rendered her speechless.

"Yeah...I'll be back" a small smile appeared on her lips. Natsu existence in her life brings her a reassuring feeling. She felt that if this man was by her side, she could even face the world. The gentle look in his eyes captivates her heart. There's this ambiguous aura surrounding them.

Yes, Lucy cannot deny this. She fell. She falls for this man, hoping that the smiling man in front of her can return her feeling. May it be too fast? She never likes someone like this, never had experience with these kinds of emotions.

It was in the blink of an eye.

A click of a safety pin of a gun being disengaged.

"Duck!" He brought Lucy into his arm and pulled her behind the tree.

The gunshot sound rang out many times, but all of them didn't meet their target but the tree bark.

"Hahaha, good luck trying to past this tree. I've tried this before," yes, Natsu did try in his few attempt of blowing his steam off session. There are even a few bullet marks, but the tree bark is too strong.

Meanwhile, Lucy was dumbfounded. Erza's warning came back to her.

"Do not go out where we can't protect you," the stern voice somehow repeated the warning in her head. It sends shivers down her spine, and that minor trembling can be felt by Natsu too.

"It's alright. I'm here," Natsu patted Lucy's back gently.

"You'll be fine," and in the blink of eyes, he brought out a gun-
