chapter fifteen: unwanted distance

when şahika opened her eyes the next morning and found herself alone in her own bedroom she was quite confused at first. but then she remembered the events of last night and them saying goodbye to each other because caner could have arrived home at any moment. so she didn't allow herself to feel disappointed; it was perfect while it lasted. she got ready for the day and headed to the kitchen, the first thing she saw was ender's frowning face. she was looking at her brother's phone while he was explaining something to her in a very exited manner.

ender's unsure and concerned face made şahika's stomach drop but she shook herself and sat down on the table, trying to make eye contact with ender to find out what was wrong. but ender wasn't looking at her and it was making şahika's skin crawl.

god, what could be wrong!

"good morning şahika! You're very quit this morning?"

şahika was pulled out of her thoughts by caner's voice; she turned to him and smiled "yes dear, i have many things in my mind cause i'm a very busy woman now you know? owning a company and all"

caner smirked at her and didn't say anything, which şahika found rather odd, and said "i'm in too much of a good mood to argue with you şahika"

şahika got suspicious for a moment! could it be related to ender's frowning face from a few seconds ago!? "how so!?"

caner opened his phone and showed it to her "look, i was just showing this to my sister. isn't this a gorgeous house? now that you two own a company we would be able to get rid of this hell hole and upgrade our living space. i was telling my sister that we definitely should buy this house to ourselves. when are you planing to move? have you seen something that you like?"

şahika felt like someone had just punched her in the face; so that was why ender couldn't look her in the face! she blinked rapidly a few times to prevent any tears gathering in her eyes and took a deep breath. she couldn't show any emotions about this subject, not in front of caner.

so she cleared her throat and said "well..no dear, but i'm sure i'll find a very suitable place for myself in no time. now if you excuse me i have so much to do in the holding being the boss isn't easy, ender are you coming?"

obviously ender didn't expect to be called out; cause she looked like a deer caught in headlights for a moment. looking from caner to şahika "uhmm...yeah..yes sure. i'm coming let's go"

şahika felt very tense in the car and by the way her white knuckles was  griping the wheel; so was ender. she desperately wanted to talk about this house arrangement, to say something, anything really. are they going to live in separate houses and see each other only in the office? is this how it's gonna be from now on?

finally she collected her courage and began "ender! what do you thing about this moving thing? i..i mean are we going to live separately like..for ever?"

suddenly ender pulled the car over and hit the breaks, putting her head on the wheel "i don't know şahika, i honestly have no idea" then she raised her head and looked şahika in the eye "but i can assure you there is nothing to be worried about. we already see each other every day in the office and this is just temporary i'll find another solution. It will work"

It kind of seemed like ender was trying to convince herself rather than şahika, but she was still right. this will work, it had to. there was no other option.
