Hellene's POV

We exited the building. I couldn't really move but Nico dragged me along until we reached the door from where we came earlier. The building was still burning but the only thing I could think of was my mother's dead body. Though tears didn't stream down my face as I thought they will. I let out a hysterical laugh and kept laughing until I collapsed on the grass outside. A couple of firemen were already staring at me but I couldn't stop laughing. Nico put both his hands on my shoulders. I stopped laughing and felt my cheeks wet as the salty water finally started falling down. I looked around. All men were now looking down at me.

"Nico, I can stop the fire." I finally said getting up, using him as a support.

"I'm sure you can. Just not now." He told me softly.

I was scared by how much his voice was softer now. Then, he whispered in my ear: "We have to get going now."

"Nico, please I can help them. I may be the only one able to. If there are other people in there I need to help them. It's not a choice I'll regret." I stated as he thought for a second and nodded.

"I'll wait outside." He said letting go of my shoulders.

I caught his jacket the instant he turned around. He tilted his head to the side as I dragged myself up on the jacket. "I need your support." I just whispered once I reached his height.

We were once again face to face as I touched his cheek. For a second I wondered about that confidence but then I realized the situation was a lot more than a scenario of a classic cheesy movie.

"Please." I begged as he nodded. He looked like he didn't know what to say but he removed my hand from his cheek. I was hurt but feelings weren't so important now.

He stood beside me as I focused. I let out a deep breath. All the firemen were back to work which was helpful since it gave me better control of the water. I sighed and focused as I felt my eyes change colour.

I couldn't say I was in full control of my body. My mind was still working but my body wasn't controlled by it. It felt like I was incaged...in my own head. I was in a giant black room which held nothing but darkness.

-

My eyes turned back to normal and I gained control though not fast enough and I realized that Nico had caught me this instant. I looked up clearing my mind. I stood up and watched as the last flame had been extinguished. I thought I did great but then I saw all the people's terrified looks. They were all staring at me.

"I think now's the best time to leave." I heard Nico say quietly.

I agreed as he picked me up once again and we disappeared in darkness.
