Vaughn's POV

I placed the cup of coffee on the counter while scanning through my phone. I sat down enjoying the silence until

"Shit I'm late!!!" Levin's voice boomed from upstairs making me raise my brow. The young male entered the kitchen and opened the fridge frantically searching for food. I sipped my coffee and watched as my roommate raced back and forth between the living room and his bedroom.

Standing up I went and washed my cup before grabbing my car keys from the bowl. I stopped and waited for Levin at the door. A minute later the blond male descended the stairs his bag slung around his shoulder while he held a book and notebook on his arm. I exited the house and headed towards my car.

"C'mon I'm dropping you off" I entered the car and looked at Levin who entered the passenger side without hesitation. He mumbles a small thanks while buckling his seatbelt while I started the car and drove out the driveway. Despite me and Levin being housemates we went to different universities. It wasn't the first time I dropped Levin off at his university.

"Don't you have classes?" He asked me.

"No, I don't," was my answer, "forgot to turn on your alarm?" I asked, sparing a glance at the blond who was skimming through his notes.

"No... I didn't wake up when it rang for the first time" he admitted before mumbling words under his breath. "Thanks for offering me a ride by the way," he thanked with a smile.

15 minutes later

"Do you want me to pick you up after your class?" I asked while I parked in the empty parking space outside Levin's university. I watched as Levin unbuckled his seatbelt swiftly.

"Umm sure... If you're not busy coz - " Levin said quickly, stopping when he saw me stare at him - an indication that means stop talking; no. I know he thinks that he is a nuisance but he isn't. It was almost a routine for both of us - me driving him to school and work and fetching him afterward.

"Good luck mate, see ya," I said to Levin who grinned widely before waving and heading towards the school entrance. I stayed a little longer observing the school grounds. My phone lit up and ringed; displaying the name of the caller.

Mum

"Hey mum" I greeted

"Vaughn, can you please go to Blake's school? Something happened and uh the meeting starts in a few minutes..." She sounded so hesitant and disappointed to tell me the favor. She probably felt like a bad mom for letting me go to my little brother's daycare when her presence was needed. It wasn't her fault that she couldn't go.

"It's okay. I'll head there after picking up Kayleigh" I assured. Kayleigh's class was finished and I was going to pick her up. Blake's daycare was near our university so I'll head there straight after picking up my...

girlfriend.

"Thank you so much, love" Mum said gratefully before ending the call. I started the car and prepared to leave the parking lot.

I wonder what happened...

Why did I hesitate?
