Chapter 1: The Beginning

I had just got away from history with Cloudjumper. That is one of our guardians the other two are Obsidian and Magma.

But any way, I heard footsteps and stopped but before I could stop Steam came speeding around the corner. BAM! "Ow!' 

"Well then don't run", I said.

"Well I wouldn't need to, if I hadn't found out something", he yelled excitedly

"You don't need to yell in my ear and what is it," I asked.

"Sorry, I just was trying to get to the history lesson. We get to learn more about the start of the war." he said beaming.

"Funny cause that is were I just came from before I rammed into you." I said. 

"Ok. You coming?" Steam asked. 

"Well fine. I guess," I said. 

"Race to the history cave?" I asked. 

"Sure. I will see you there. When I beet you," he yelled back. 

"No way!" I yelled.

Steam is a Lavawing and a little bit of a book worm but he is the most trustworthy out of all of us. He would do anything to save his friends.

Star is a Novawing. Star is let me say dramatic but even though she doesn't say it loves her friends. We all do.

Coral is a Oceanwing. She thinks she is royalty. She is a great fighter and is very protective of her friends. Always read to jump into a fight to save them and she is bossy but not that much.

Sun is a Lightwing. She loves to look her best every day, even though no one is coming down to see them other than the guardians and the rest of us. She and Coral get in fights almost all the time. But they love each other no matter what.

Lastly is wonderful Diamond, who is a Gemwing. She is the sweatiest dragon you could meet. She loves books like Steam. She is also very good in fights, but she is weird looking. She is a lot smaller than normal Gemwing. She is also very observant.

When I got to the history cave. The first thing I say was the map of Phillipa. And right by the map was the rest of our little pack. Coral and Sun were arguing about who would be Shimer and who would be Slither.

There are 3 sister that are the heir to the Snakewing throne. The oldest one and strongest Slither, then there is the middle sister and smartest also scariest of them Sand, and the youngest sister and the stupidest but most liked Shimer.

"Diamond is already Sand! And I was Shimer last time! So now it is your turn," Yelled Sun

"Well, I should be Slither because I am the strongest!" Coral snapped back

"Why doesn't Steam be slither and Coral you can be the cavedweller that killed the Queen. Is that ok with you steam?" I asked, "Then next time you can be Slither Sun. I will be Shimer, k?"

"Fine!" Coral snapped. "That's ok with me," Sun said.

"I can be the queen," Star said.

"Oh, look at all my treasure. I love it all." Star said.

"Don't forget about the princesses" Coral reminded her.

"Oh right, thanks. But one day I will be challenged by one of my daughter. Slither and I get along pretty well. Except for her strange liking of Sea animals and Dragon parts. Sorta scared for her to be queen. Sand has been planning my death the moment she found out about that she could be queen. Shimer, I don't have to worry about her. She can't fight and really cares about her looks only." Star said dramatically and a little serious.

"Squeak, Squeak" Coral said. "And some more annoying noises." added Coral. We all laughed.

"Haha. OH, back to queen. Cave dwellers! I will eat you for lunch you little....OW!" Star yelled "Hey that was my tail. Oh now you are getting it! Tickle tickle tickle."

"Stop, Stop. Ok I get it" yelled Coral in between laughing.

"Ha. Now it is time for lunch. Wait stop noooooooooooooo my treasure!" Star yelled as Coral grabbed a pointy rock and pretended to stab Star with it. "I beat a dragon! Squeak, squeak, squeak!" Coral yelled. Then she pushed the pile of rocks to the corner.

"Oh my goodness mother is dead!" I yelled "Who challenged  her for the throne!"

"I was going to," Diamond said "But was going to wait."

"I was busy looking at the new sea animal I found," Steam said "Now who will be queen?"

"I should be Queen because i was going to challenge her first. Also I am the smartest," Diamond said.

"But I am the oldest and strongest of us," Steam said.

"No way! I should be queen because I am the most liked and most............ beautiful," I said

"The End!" yelled Obsidian, "What is this? This is not studying. Windflower, why did you not have everyone study. Not play games."

"Sorry. We were just going over the beginning of the war. I am sorry," I said with my head down. I normally got yelled at when we get in trouble. I am the oldest so I am responsible for all of them. I felt Diamond hide behind me. She didn't like it when we got yelled at and she was small enough to hide behind my wing.

"Everyone to your bunks. Also Windflower." She said

"Yes?" I answered. "Get the others ready." she said not looking at me

"Why?" I asked "Because Emerald is coming" She answered
