Chapter 7: The Plan

I woke up a little while latter and I was in a new place. There was rock all around me except for bars in the front of my cell. I tried to stand but nearly fell over because my legs were not wanting to work. When I got to the bars I looked out and saw a big wall of stone and two guards were staring at me and never broke their eyes from me.

I decided to look around the outside more latter. Right now I looked around the cell but there wasn't much. Over 2 feet over my head there was a emerald glowing out of a hole in the wall. There was a little square hole that had bars also on it that let me look at the other cell. On the wall with the emerald there was a place for a chain and connected to it was a long chain with cuffs at the end of the chains. Windflower where! I heard very quietly. I have heard that voice before but where?

The cell by her was the same kind of shape. Except that the gem that was glowing was a ruby. In the back of the cell by me had chains but there was someone (or something) on the chains. The thing was just hanging there. Then it moved! I looked closer and I saw blue purple scales. A bright light shown so bright that I thought would blind me. When the light dimmed it was a Oceanwing!!

What did she do? Be against them duh! I thought slapping my head with my palm. She was just hanging there and when she finally opened her eyes they looked like they were ready to die. I waved my claw and her sad eyes slowing turned towards me and I thought that she was a statue by the way her head moved so slow.

"What's your name?" I asked trying to make a conversation.

She just stared at me and softly said "Sandbay. You?"

"Windflower." I answered, "how were you caught?"

"We were in a battle against Gemwings and Lavawings. I... I... I was trying to guard my little sister and brother but." She stopped and I saw tears flow up in her eyes. "They killed them in the arena after they captured us and they made them fight against each other!" She yelled she then pulled at her chains and instead of sad eyes they were holding fiery.

I jumped at her angry yell and nearly fell. "Sandbay, please calm down. The guards are looking at you." I said tilting my head towards them. "I am sorry about your siblings."

"I really want to escape. But no one wants to help." She said barely audible. "Would you help, Windflower?" Sandbays sad eyes landed on me and I couldn't say no.

"Of course!" I said almost jumping but holding myself back. I walked over to the bars at the front of my cell and looked out as well as I could.

On the right of the guards there is a big opening and past that is just a hallway. And like 50 cells past there isa turn towards the left. To the left there was the exact same thing.

"Sandbay, could you by any chance distract the guards. And when they are in your cell I will melt these bars then I will close those bars. You then flash your scales as light as they go" I said thinking. "Then when you have your scales,"

"Nope. Not going to work,"  Sandbay interrupted not looking up. In the corner of my eye I saw the guards leave.  "Have tried that. It always backfires. But if you could some how dig a hole in the wall then we should be by the arena. They will soon let me off my chains. And then once we are both in the tunnel and we then will be in the arena. You can melt these clamps on our wings and we will be free."

"That sounds perfect! Now I need to find something to dig with." I excitally whispered trying to find anything. WINDFLOWER! The voice came again a bit more scared or was it angry? I jumped a little from the voice and Sandbay looked at me with a concerned face. But I couldn't get distracted. So I looked around the room and there!

A stagltight was hanging from the ceiling. If I shot it in the right spot it would fall. I shot it and just as I had thought it fell. I caught it so it wouldn't make a loud noice. And I started to dig!
