You stared at your shadow as you walked along the prime path, thinking about what Karl was talking about.

What was he talking about?

The key never exploded.

When he handed you the key the other day, you only remember-

Huh..

He gave you the key... and then you opened the door. That's completely normal.

But.. he was supporting you?

It was blurry and the harder you tried to think about it, a headache started to form.

Suddenly, you bumped into something.

The 'something' winced as they watched you fall over. They panicked slightly, guilt rushing them. "Oh- Sorry about that! I didn't see you there."

Lifting your head, above you stood Ranboo. A sheepish smile and a hand scratching behind his head, the other held out for you.

You gladly take the hand with a small smile. "Thanks. Sorry, I wasn't watching where I was headed."

"No. No. It's my fault. I should've moved when I saw you." Moments before bumping into you, he was writing into the small journal he kept at his side at all times. When he heard footsteps he looked up and saw you, but didn't move because he wasn't sure if you were going to do the same. He noticed the exasperated look on your face. "...uhm- Are you okay?"

You sighed and gave a breathy laugh. "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just tired."

Eyes focusing on his face, you notice the slight glow of green in his eye.

He nodded. "Ah. That's good. That's good." His eyebrows scrunched in thought. "Do you remember an Arabella? By any chance?"

"Uhm- No?" You awkwardly laugh. "I don't."

He nods. "Okay. Okay. Uhm- I know you don't know Dream..." He mutters to himself. Taking in a deep breath, he puts his hands together. "How about a voice?"

You stared at him. "What are you getting at here Ranboo?"

"Do you hear a voice?"

"How- Wha- Uhm- No?" You stutter, unsure of what to tell him.

He stays silent for a moment. "That's a lie.."

"Excuse m-" He cuts you off.

"You don't have to lie to me. Just tell me if you hear her. Maybe even him too?" His green eye glowed brighter.

"Ranboo-" He grabs your wrists, pulling you closer to him.

"You hear it too right? A voice." A smile was on his face. "He tells me you can probably hear her too. Just like him."

Your heart was beating fast as you struggled under his hold. "What are you talking about?! Who's telling you these things?"

"Dream! You know him- Well.." He muttered under his breath. "-he said you don't remember him."

Ranboo stared at the scared expression on your face, his own smile turning into a frown. "Oh dear." His voice seemed to merge with another in that statement. "I'm sorry. Did he scare you? Oh shoot."

His green eye flashed and the glowing in his eye disappeared. He blinked. "(Y/n)?" He noticed the scared expression in your eyes, but it wasn't the weary one as when you first saw him. It was as if she saw a ghost. His eyes traveled to his hands, which squeezed your wrists much too hard. His eyes widened as his hands flew to his sides. "Ah! I- I'm so sorry!"

He wasn't able to remember what happened prior to standing here with you. One moment he was writing into his journal and he looked up seeing you. The next moment, your wrists are held much too harshly in his own.

You stay silent, staring at him for a few moments. Guilt filled his chest. "(Y/n)- I'm so sorry- I didn't mean to do what I did to make you scared.."

You gulped down the saliva in your mouth, stuffing your hands in your pocket(s). "You- Are you okay?"

"Am I okay? I just did- who knows what I did to you?! Are you okay?" He nervously grabbed and squeezed his own hands waiting for a response.

Squeezing the key that hid within the same pocket, you took in a deep breath. "I need to leave."

As the two-toned boy watches you start walking away, his eyes widen. "Wait (Y/n) I'm sorry- Please believe me- Whatever I did.. I'm sorry.."

Stopping for a moment and slightly turning your head towards him, you nod. "I- I forgive you." A pause. "I don't know if it's normal for your eyes to glow like that- Or if it's normal for you to forget things mid-conversation but please... Forgive me if it spooks me just a little." You smile at him before walking away.

Arabella sighs in frustration.

She didn't mean for him to scare you. She didn't expect it to be so hard to control Ranboo. In fact, Dream is able to control him better than she is.

But to be fair, Ranboo hasn't made any wishes with her. She scowled at the small fact, but decided it was best if Dream didn't destroy her book rather than making a small wish with some poor soul just to feel loved.

She had enough love anyways.

Yours..

And Dream's.

"Arabella." A voice boomed through the dark abyss she took refuge in.

She sighed, the blue symbols around her neck glowed as they soon erupted around her.

A small endearing smile made its way to her face. Yet it didn't seem to reach her eyes. It never did.

"Dream."

"Where is (Y/n) now?"

"She's headed into the woods." She held her hand in front of her, gracefully.

He clenched his fists. Taking in a deep breath, he lifted his head. "Where is she headed?"

Arabella sighed, her smile never leaving. "Dear.. you know you can speak to her as well. You don't have to keep asking me for her whereabouts."

He childishly groaned. "No- No. I don't think I can."

She made her way towards the giant man child. "Darling she doesn't even remember you. She doesn't even remember me." Her next words were muttered under her breath, a hand covering her mouth. "I'll have to do something about her remembering me..". She put her hand down and onto Dream's head, who was currently holding his head in his arm at his desk. "She doesn't have to know."

He groans. "I'm not worried about her knowing about my wish. In fact, I could care less if she knew about my wish. She's just- She's not supposed to be here Arabella." He throws his hands up. "I made sure of it. With my.. wish."

His head whipped towards Arabella and she quickly retracted her hand. "You- My wish. You brought her here."

Her smile disappeared as her eyes glowed a little brighter. "Darling I wasn't involved in this at all. Though I guess I did allow her to come here once I sensed her." She paused aware of the dream he needed to blow off. "If you wanted to blame anyone, blame Karl."

Dream's eyes glowed the same shade of green under his mask before fading. "Blame Karl.. That would be fun huh?" He cackled. "Well this would call for a little- friendly reunion doesn't it.."

He stood up, pushing his chair behind him as he started walking towards the exit of his house.

"But first- I have to check on Tommy."
