An hour later Jack and Nikki are sat in the hired out room of a pub for the drinks and buffet after Harper's christening. Nikki is sat with a glass of champagne which is watered down with lemonade as she doesn't want to drink too much with her still breastfeeding Katy. Jack on the other hand has a glass of cola set in front of him "Do you want some food from the Buffett?" Jack questions as he leans in and kisses Nikki on the lips.
"Hmm, just get a few things and I will pick at it," She responds and kisses him on the lips.
Jack gets up off the chair and heads over to the buffet, the last time they had anything from a buffet was their wedding, and Nikki couldn't stand the smell of the tuna sandwiches and almost made her sick, he put this down to her being pregnant at the time but didn't want to give her something she won't like so doesn't pick any up.Once collecting a few nibbles he heads back over to Nikki who now has Molly her other goddaughter sat beside her looking into the car seat at Katy. Jack smiles and places the paper plate down on the table and sits back down, "Hey Mol..." Jack smiles cheerfully.
Molly looks over her shoulder at Jack and smiles before turning her attention back to the baby "Nikki can I hold Katy?" Molly quizzes.Nikki looks down at the young girl and smiles as she places a sandwich back down on the paper plate and nods, "Of course, jump up here and I will get her out," Nikki smiles patting the small space between herself and Jack.
Molly grins cheerfully at her godmother and sits next to Jack and waits patiently for Nikki to get Katy out of the car seat. Nikki crouches down in front of the car seat and scoops Katy up into her arms, standing up straight she walks over to Molly and smiles as Jack places Katy's blanket on Molly's lap. "You need to make sure you are gentle, Mol, and support her head" Nikki smiles as she reminds herself how rough Molly sometimes gets with her pretend babies.
Jack watches the pair and smiles as Molly gasps with surprise as she cradles Katy in her arms, Nikki crouches down in front of Molly and keeps her hand underneath Katy's head for support. "My Dolly is bigger than Katy," Molly grins cheekily.
"She is small," Nikki giggles as she watches Molly admire the baby.Molly continues to hold Katy for a while and talks to the two adults beside her, soon Emma comes over to Nikki and stands talking to the couple and also takes a photo of Molly with Katy for her memory board she is putting together for Molly and Harper. While Emma is sat talking with Jack and Nikki, Molly speaks up as she watches her mother who is now holding Katy, "Mummy can I have a baby sister?"
"You've got Harper, darling, you don't need any more baby sisters" Emma smirks.
"But that is no fair!" Molly huffs slumping down the chair and Emma just rolls her eyes at her before handing Katy back to Nikki.
"Life isn't far Molly, no more babies. It's hard enough work with you and Harper," Emma chuckles as she stands up and excuses herself from the conversation noticing Harper kicking up a fuss with her grandparents.Molly follows her mother across the room leaving Jack and Nikki alone, Nikki glances at Jack and smiles before he looks back at her. "Are you ready to go by any chance?" Jack smirks leaning in and capturing her lips.
"Yeah, I'm tired and I want to give Katy a bath before she goes down for the night," Nikki responds.
With that Jack downs, the rest of his drink and passes Nikki Katy's blanket just after she secures her in the car seat. She picks up the changing bag allowing Jack to carry the car seat and quickly heads over to Emma to let her know they're going to head off now.Jack walks towards the door waiting there with his daughter in her car seat, Nikki rejoins the pair and smiles cheerfully at him as they walk out of the pub and across the car park to Jack's car.
