A couple of hours later Jack is currently sat in the lounge area of their static caravan waiting for Nikki to finish getting ready for their 'date night'. In the time he had been waiting for his wife to finish off getting ready he had checked work emails, made a phone call to Adam back at the Lyell, and tided up after his daughter who had just finished eating spaghetti hoops in tomato sauce which had gone absolutely everywhere imaginable.

Jack chuckles as he glances over at Carol who has Katy sat in the kitchen sink bathing her, "You know there is a perfectly functional bath in the bathroom?" Jack smirks.
"I know, but this is easier on my knees," Carol responds glancing over at her son-in-law.

"She's small enough to fit in the sink still. Definitely taken after Nikki. When I was seven months old my Da said I was that long I already exceeded the length of a baby that age. But then wee Katy she's slightly behind the average size."

Carol chuckles at his comment, "She will catch up in her own time, Nikki was exactly the same... always the smallest child in her class she was perfectly fine but she looked so fragile beside the other children her age, I must show you those photos soon," Carol smiles.

He nods at her suggestion, Jack had hardly seen any photos of Nikki as a child only the odd few she had hidden away in a keepsake box under their bed.

After a few more minutes of waiting, Nikki comes out of the bedroom with her heels in hand and smiles at Jack, "Woah..." Jack breathes, he had to admit he'd forgotten what Nikki looked like completely dressed up, make-up, hair and all.
"Is it too much?" Nikki asks her mother and husband as she flattens her dress out.

"You look lovely Nikki" Carol smiles.
"It's perfect... you look amazing," Jack smiles and stands from the sofa, he steps over to his wife and places his hands on her hips.

Gazing down at her he places a kiss on her forehead and smiles, "You look perfect," He whispers as he manages to capture her lips.
"Thank you," She smirks.

Moving away from Jack she sits down on the sofa and puts her shoes on, "Mum, are you sure you will be okay with Katy? we don't have to go," Nikki speaks up as she looks over at her Mum holding Katy who is now wrapped up in a towel looking very sleepy.

"Don't be daft, go on have a lovely evening... We will be just fine," Carol grins happily as she bounces her Granddaughter on her hip.
Nikki stands back up and pulls her black cardigan on, "Okay, but please... if there is a problem call me," Nikki responds as she steps over to her Mum and cups Katy's face, and kisses her on the forehead. "Be a good girl for Grandma," She whispers softly.

"Nikki she's seven and a half months old, she is hardly going to cause a problem now is she," Jack responds with a chuckle as he places his hand in the small of her back.

"Now go, go enjoy your evening, don't hurry back either, you have all night," Carol smiles shooing the pair off in the direction of the caravan door.

Jack grabs Nikki's arm and pulls her away, "Come on now Nik, we need to go. How the hell are you going to get on when you're back at work full time?" He smirks.

She laughs nervously at the thought of leaving Katy when she eventually goes back to work full-time. Stepping out of the static caravan she follows Jack who leads her out the campsite and they head back down to the town they had been in a few days ago.

As they walk down the street towards the harbor Jack keeps brushing his hand against hers indicating the obvious. Nikki bites her lip and smiles as she feels his fingers brush against her hand catching the wedding rings on her left hand.

"Where are you taking me then Jack?" Nikki speaks up.
"Pub..." He smiles.
"Seriously? Aren't I worth more than just a pub meal," She grins cheekily.

Jack grabs her hand quickly and squeezes it, "Yes, you are. But there isn't anything quite as fancy as this pub in many miles, and anyway I'm not driving as I want a drink," He responds.

"I can survive just this once," She smirks.
"Of course I had to marry someone with incredibly expensive taste, hey you're the doctor of pathology shouldn't you be paying for this meal?" He chuckles.

Nikki rolls her eyes at him as the pair continue to walk, "I'm on maternity leave... I-" She is then cut off by Jack.
"You know you get paid way more than me on maternity leave still?" Jack reminds her with a small smile on his face.

"I know. But what I was going to say is you still owe me for the fact you got me pregnant and put me through fourteen hours of labour, just to get her here who leeches off me daily," She giggles.

Jack lets go of her hand briefly as he glances down at his phone, "I will have you know... that it takes two to tango, and she was somewhat planned so you are partly to blame," He responds

She smirks and rolls her eyes at his comment as they round the corner from the pub, "Could have kept it in your trousers..." She teases.
"Should have kept your legs closed then too," He chuckles as he quickly pinches her bottom causing her to gasp and bite her lip at his actions.

"Behave, Mr. Hodgson," She smirks a glint of love and excitement flashing through her eyes.
"More of that if you continue to misbehave," He chuckles as he guides his wife into the pub. Nikki had to suddenly steady her breathing as she watches Jack ask for a table of two, he eyes drifted over his body she couldn't get enough of his body but now she came to think of it this had been the first time in a very long time she had felt sexually attracted or turned on by Jack.
