Around noon, Jack and Nikki arrive at the church where Harper - Nikki's goddaughter to be is getting christened. Due to the size of the church, Jack had opted to carry Katy in her car seat instead of pushing her in the pram. At the moment Nikki is carrying Katy as she had to change her nappy in the car but didn't want to put her back in the car seat due to Katy being restless.

Nikki makes her way up the gravel path to the church with Jack following her behind, Nikki smiles at Emma as she approaches the church and joins them outside. "You've got some explaining to do Nikki" Emma smiles as her eyes cast down to the baby Nikki is cradling in her arms.
She looks at her friend with confusion written across her face, "Have I?" Nikki smiles as she moves the blanket she has draped over Katy in her arms as even though it is warm there is a cool breeze in the air.

"I didn't think you were due until next week?" Emma asks catching the attention of Vicki and Cheryl who are also waiting around nearby.

That was when Nikki realized she had been so wrapped up with Katy crashing into her life that she had completely forgotten to text her friend's group chat to let them know. "Oh my god, I am so sorry. I've been so wrapped up with this little one, please forgive me."

Emma smiles and steps forwards to look at the baby in her arms, "I will forgive you. But isn't she a stunning little dot, How old?" She smiles.
"Two weeks and four days," Nikki smiles happily as she moves the blanket off Katy and drapes it over her own shoulder.
"Can I?" Emma asks indicating with her arms that she would like to hold Katy.

Nikki nods and smiles as she passes Katy over to Emma carefully and watches as her friend cradles her daughter. "Her name is Katherine, but Katy for short," Nikki smiles.
"She's gorgeous Nikki, making my children look like aliens..." Emma jokes as she cradles the newborn.

"Just like her Mum," Jack smirks placing his arm around Nikki and stroking her hip.
Nikki turns her head and smiles up at Jack, she kisses his shoulder and turns back to watch Emma hold Katy. "...an Alien," Jack chuckles.

Nikki hits Jack on the arm playfully and rolls her eyes at him. "How are you finding being a Mummy then?" Emma smiles as she rocks Katy.
"Tiring, but she is so worth it..." Nikki smiles as she watches her friend hold her daughter.

Soon they all head into the church and settle down for the readings before moving onto the christenings of the day. Nikki is currently stood at the back of the church with Jack and Katy, "...and if she starts to cry there is a bottle in the bag, it is breast milk so she should take it, dummies, in the side pocket, and nappies and wipes in the middle," Nikki smiles as she kisses Jack on the cheek.

"What if I drop her?" Jack speaks panic in his tone as this is the first time he had been left with Katy in his care alone.
"You won't, and if you do... don't tell me until she is eighteen," She smiles as leaves Jack and heads to the front of the church.

Jack smiles before looking down at Katy who is wide awake, her big brown eyes gazing up at her father. "Hey you, better be good for me. Your Mummy thinks I know what I am doing but I don't," He mutters glancing down the church just being able to make out the back of Nikki's head.

The service takes place and Nikki is up with Emma and Harper for the first christening out of the eight they have to get through, Jack watches happily as Nikki follows through the christening of Harper who is officially now Nikki's goddaughter, in a way she knew Emma was using Nikki's medical degree to her advantage that if Harper or Molly was to become sick Nikki could be called and she would be spiritually obliged to come and see to the girls.
As the church service moves on Jack lifts Katy up under her arms supporting her head completely and brings her a little closer to his face and watches as Katy focuses on his face, He grins as Katy kicks her legs, as he holds her up and watches her facial expression.

Katy's face begins to change as she focuses on her father before letting out a cry, "Oh Katy, I know I'm not Mummy but I will have to do," Jack whispers as he moves her back into the cradled position and gets the bottle out of changing bag.
He huffs as Katy keeps moving away from the bottle and then he tries the dummy but she spits it out and then cries louder, Jack gently lifts her hand smells around her nappy before deciding it doesn't need changing and sighs as he rocks her. "Come on, Katy..." He sighs rocking her.

She calms slightly and her cries become more of a whimper, Jack brings the bottle back to her mouth and sees if she will take the teet. The next thing Jack knows Katy lets out a loud cry and kicks her legs frantically almost like she is getting frustrated, before he can react he can see Nikki quickly dashing towards the back of the church.
Nikki looks at Jack and gives him a knowing nod and then takes Katy out of his arms and sits beside him, she grabs Katy's blanket and drapes it over her shoulder to give herself some privacy as she is going to see if feeding her keeps Katy quiet.
