A couple of weeks later and Katy has just turned seven weeks old. Jack had just woken up after an almost ten-hour sleep due to him coming home and not feeling too good Nikki on the other hand had to deal with Katy throughout the night who was very restless and was waking much more than her usual sporadic sleep pattern.
Jack rolls over and smiles up at Nikki who has Katy resting on her chest stripped down to her nappy while she messes on her iPad. "Morning, feeling better?" Nikki smiles placing her back on the lower part of Katy's back again.

"Much better, definitely needed that sleep," Jack responds stretching out. Nikki smiles and places her iPad down on the side. "She had you up much?" Jack asks sitting up and kissing Nikki's cheek.

"She's had a restless night, I think it was wind but she threw up all over me around five this morning, she seemed to be more comfortable after," Nikki responds with a tired smile.
Jack places his hand on her thigh and strokes it for a moment, "Want me to keep an eye on her and you go for a shower? I think it's in your hair too," Jack responds.

She nods and passes Katy to her husband before clambering out the bed and walking into the ensuite and turning the shower on before shutting the door through to the bedroom. Jack looks down at Katy as she kicks up a fuss once again and gurgles before letting out a loud cry, "Hey you noisy beggar... you'll wake the dead," Jack smiles as Katy lets out another cry and he sighs before standing up with her noticing the infant Calpol a bottle of milk and a bottle of water for Katy on the side, he feels her forehead as he rests her in his arms and notices how warm she is. "Oh Katy, you poor thing, burning up... let's open a window," Jack coos walking over to the windows with his daughter and opens the windows.

He had decided against giving her any Calpol as he was unsure when Nikki had given her any and would hate to overdose her. Jack holds Katy against his chest and walks around the bedroom attempting to soothe the hysterically crying baby by now Jack was contemplating staying at home with Nikki because it was obvious Katy wasn't well.

Topping off his theory was when he heard a loud burp from the baby resting on his chest followed by a warm sensation dripping down his chest. "Oh Katy," Jack sighs as the baby continues to cry clearly in some form of discomfort.

"Nikki?!" Jack calls needing help because he fears moving her and the sick spreading further across the bedroom floor.
"Yeah?" She calls back and she turns off the shower.
"Help..." He responds.

Nikki pops her head around the bathroom door and looks across the room at her husband and daughter. "She's been sick," Jack responds standing looking at his wife helplessly.

Nikki grabs her towel wraps it around her body before walking out of the ensuite, "Stay still, I'll get a towel," Nikki responds panic in her tone.
"Yeah I'm not gonna move," He replies sarcastically.

Nikki rolls her eyes at his comment before leaving the room and grabbing a towel and returning, The two workaround getting less sick on the floor as they move Katy.

Before long Nikki had Katy bathed and dressed, Jack had managed to not be sick while cleaning up the sick that had ended up on the wooden floor in their bedroom.
Nikki now has taken Katy downstairs and made her own breakfast while Katy is laid on the playmat in the lounge. Jack walks into the kitchen after a well-deserved shower and wraps his arms around Nikki's waist from behind and kisses his wife's shoulder. "How is she now?" Jack asks.

"Settled..." Nikki sighs.
"Do you want me to stay home today?" he responds stroking her stomach, Jack couldn't help but think as he strokes his stomach that he used to do that all the time before Katy was born and how he actually misses feeling their baby move under his touch.

"I'll be fine," She whispers.
"Are you sure?" Jack asks not feeling confident that she wants to be alone with Katy unwell. "I can call in... Thomas won't mind."

He keeps his hands on her surprisingly flat stomach for giving birth only seven weeks ago. "I'm staying home..." Jack responds noticing Nikki's silence had said it all for him.
Jack pulls away and grabs his phone before calling Thomas to let him know what is going on. In the time Jack is on the phone Nikki goes in to check on Katy and to also try and give her some water in an attempt to keep her fluids up after her multiple vomiting sessions.

Nikki scoops her up off the floor and sits down with her in the armchair and picks up the bottle of water and offers her the teet, naturally for Katy she turns it down as she clearly prefers being on the breast to a bottle. Nikki sighs and looks up for a moment when she feels Katy go floppy in her arms before tensing, "Shit... no... no!" She panics looking down at her daughter who is clearly convulsing, "Jack!" Nikki yells.

Jack casually walks through and looks at Nikki kneeling on the floor with Katy. "Jack... She's convulsing..." Nikki speaks.
Jack snaps out of his casual walk and rushes to Nikki's side, "We need to get her to hospital," Jack responds.
"No, call an Ambulance... she could die!" Nikki panics.

Jack grabs the nearest phone and dials 999 before being put through to the call operator, in a matter of minutes an ambulance is dispatched to them and Nikki sits on the floor with Katy who has just come out of the convlusing and is now crying.
