Make him Human

Sometime later Nikki is still sat in the Lyell with Katy resting In her arms while Nikki feeds her. Thomas had recently come back from a scene and is waiting patiently to hold Katy as promised by Nikki."So come on spill, how was labour?" Clarissa smirks.

Nikki chuckles and looks down at Katy, "them midwives don't lie when they say it's like pushing a watermelon through a keyhole... it was tiring but worth it, we got a baby at the end of it all" Nikki smiles not wanting to give too many gory details but Jack has other ideas.

"Yet what she hasn't told you is she threw up many times, including getting it all down me, she winded a midwife and screamed blue murder... I tell you even the coma patients knew Nikki was in labour" he smirks.

Clarissa and Thomas grimace at what Jack has just told them. "Sounds like you had a great time" Thomas winces.
"Never again," Nikki responds.
"But we both agree the best moment was when Katy arrived, I've never seen Nikki shaking like she did, even down to her legs... plenty of tears" Jack responds as he leans over and kisses Nikki's head.

Clarissa smiles at the pair as Nikki moves Katy away from the breast and burps her. "I'm glad you've made him human Nikki, Jack needs to learn to show emotion more often" Clarissa smirks.

"I think it was an Adrenaline rush I got when she came," Nikki smiles watching Katy and waiting for her to burp. "And what he didn't tell you either was he cried so much too when Katy was born, he was bright red with tear-stained cheeks" Nikki smirks as she glances up at him to see Jack going bright red.

"Oh... not quite the Jack-son-man we know then, more like Andy Pandy, soft and emotional" Thomas chuckles.
"Hey watch it! I've got Katy trained I'll request she throws up down you as she did to Nikki last night, all down her neck top and on the sofa" Jack smirks.
"That wasn't vomit, it was more like an uncontrollable hose," Nikki cringes.

Jack once again placed his hand on Nikki's shoulder and squeezes it slightly before planting another kiss on her head. Thomas had been watching them for some time and but by the way, Jack keeps touching and kissing Nikki he knew they were going to last, he saw something different to what he and Julia had but his ex-wife wasn't his best friend before they got together, unlike Jack and Nikki who had over eight years of friendship behind them. 

He snaps out of his thought as Nikki calls his name and smiles at him, "Do you want to hold her now?" Nikki smiles and Thomas nods as he steps forwards to meet Nikki. 
Nikki stands opposite him and carefully passes her daughter over to Thomas who cradles her carefully. Nikki smiles and adjusts the bib around Katy's neck before feeling Jack's arms snaking around her waist and pulling her down onto his lap, Jack smiles as he holds her close and gently strokes his thumb across her thigh. "Pasta carbonara for dinner tonight," Nikki randomly says turning to face him slightly. 

"Sounds lovely, you don't have to cook... I can."
"It's fine, you can have some quality time with Katy, your night to bathe Katy," Nikki smirks and turns around and kisses his cheek. Jack smiles at her and cups her cheeks capturing her lips in the process. 
"Why don't you keep Adam on for another two years Thomas, the way these two are loved up after having a baby a whole month ago I think we may be hearing the second pair of tiny feet around," Clarissa chuckles causing Nikki and Jack to break from their kiss earlier than planned. 

The pair look at each other in shock shaking their heads frantically, "No way! not for a while yet," Jack mutters. 
"Yet?" Nikki announces loudly almost in shock at Jack's comment, she didn't plan on any more children and she thought Jack had agreed on just the one but clearly, he has other ideas. 
"O-oh..." Clarissa says backing away and heading back over to her desk watching Jack and Nikki search the eyes of each other for answers, Jack was sure she wanted more children but now he was doubting things. 

"Jack?" She breathes.
"You don't want any more do you?" Jack responds letting himself down before Nikki has a chance to. 
She watches him for a moment realizing Thomas is sat opposite them with their daughter but clearly not listening. "It's too soon to say okay?" She breathes and kissing his cheek softly. Jack smiles at her response and nods understandingly, maybe he was just getting ahead of himself being so wrapped up with their first child finally in his life.
