"Fuck!" Jughead shouts as he dismounts his bike in front of the Whyte Wyrm

"Face it Jughead there's no way to make the time work. We're going to miss the whole party just trying to get back here." Sweet Pea tells him.

"There has to be a way Pea." He says back trying to bite down on the irritation he's feeling.

"We can always ride faster." Arrowhead suggest quietly. Jughead looks at him shaking his head.

"Not without getting stopped by state troopers." Full Metal tells his fellow Serpent.

"If state troopers spot us period then this whole plan fails." Jughead warns. "And we get locked up."

"We need a shorter route." Sweet Pea says as if the solution were that easy.

Jughead kicks at a rock on the way inside the very bar they are trying to save. Val is standing at the door with her purple braided hair reminiscent of Toni's. She's waiting for them to come admit defeat. Not for the first time Jughead has to wonder why the women in the gang are such smart asses.

"Four hours is too long for even one of our groups to make it back in time, right?" she asks with an I told you so smile.

"Fuck off." Jughead mutters as she laughs at him along with Marybeth.

Jughead's body is sore from the ride and his attitude is maybe a little too hostile. He knew it wouldn't be easy to pull this off, but he thought it would be easier than this. They had found out from a source (A Serpent who relocated to Sunnydale) that the money drop offs in Sunnydale had in fact moved up to earlier times. Instead of the expected eleven o'clock deliveries, the town has moved up the deliveries to eight. The first team would have to miss the start of the party and the second team would miss the whole thing. They would only be able to stay for an hour until it was time to leave. That disruption would not bode well for an alibi. Even Toni couldn't finesse that situation. Cheryl or Kevin would surely notice the most notable Serpents missing for majority of the party. Jughead knows he and Sweet Pea stand out too much on the Northside to be gone for that long without causing suspicion. Jughead however cannot see him leaving this to the other members. Metal, Arrow, and Slash are capable enough, but Jughead will not put them in jeopardy if he would not or could not do it himself. To make matters all the more difficult, they still need to steal a couple of Ghoulie rides, so their vehicles won't be identifiable.

Jughead sits at the bar where Luke is serving today. He's older than Jughead's group but not as old as FP's group. Luke belongs to the generation of Serpents they consider the weakest. 'The wasted generation' they call them teasingly in the bar. FP's Serpents, known as 'The riot generation', had held down the Southside during the riots, a moment which is legendary till this day amongst them. FP's Serpents had also pulled off some big-time heist and had kept the Southsiders fed. FP has no idea Jughead knows about those times, but he's been around the gang enough to have heard the stories. They had never needed help from the Northside, and they were able to stay on their own part of town happily. Apparently, the gang was a lot more notorious until FP gave the reigns to Tall Boy's nephew Small Foot years ago. That move ruined things for everyone involved. FP had wanted to settle down and get his family away from that life. Jughead will never forget that point in time. They had moved to the Northside. No more Serpents, no more drinking, no more of FP's punches. The one short year where the Jones family had resided on Elm street with the Coopers, Andrews, and Mantles. The brief time that gave Jughead the hope that maybe they could have that again or maybe he could find his way back to that street. That never happened. The Northside made everything worse, so much worse that Gladys left and took Jellybean with her. FP drank harder, FP hit harder. Eventually Jughead left too. And in all that time Small Foot had begun driving the gang into the ground. By the time FP finally accepted back the reigns the Serpents reputation and income had been irreparable.
