Marshall and I gawked at each other awkwardly after the words escaped my lips. I didn't mean to say it, but I couldn't help myself. Maybe it was better this way that the man truly knows how I feel about him. Or maybe it was the biggest mistake of my life to look vulnerable in front of Slim Shady since he got me in the sack.
"I love you too baby." He told me and gave me one last smooch before I walked slowly toward the door to meet up with Macy.
I didn't look back as I hurried down the hallway and pressed the button for the elevator. It dinged straight away, and the doors opened to swallow me up as I quickly forced the doors closed and let out a loud groan.
"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god." I repeated quickly as I pushed the button for the tenth floor. "What the fuck?"
The doors opened and I made my way to Macy's room. I could hear loud music blaring and I knew it had to be coming from her room. When I entered, there were a bunch of people there who I had never seen before. Three girls sat in the hot tub in the middle of the room in their bras and underwear and two seedy dudes were hanging around. Macy didn't introduce me to anyone. There was no reason to, I don't want to meet her bullshit fake friends.
"Why'd you ask me to come down here?" I shouted over the noise.
"I have a going away present for you." Macy said as she motioned for me to follow her to a bedroom.
Macy closed the door and moved toward the bed to take her hoodie off. She reached in the closet and turned around to reveal a plate with a mountain of blow on it. I noticed a card and a rolled -up bill on the dresser which she used to start cutting it out.
"C'mon Mace, I don't want that shit."
"Did we not used to party together?!" Macy was annoyed.
"Sure, but that was a long time ago. I got a daughter now. I have enough problems as it is. I don't want to end up like my mother." I told her.
"Fine." Macy rolled the bill tighter to snort a line and then pinched her nose. "So, how was Eminem? You guys have a good after party?"
"Yeah, it was great."
"Does he fuck like Superman?"
I laughed. "Yes. I think I'm in love." I said dreamily.
"Hahahahaha...yeah, right!"
"I'm serious. We're in a relationship now."
"Ray, guys like Marshall don't settle down. You know that." Macy told me as she cut another line and sniffed it.
"Take it easy with that shit!"
Macy glared at me. "I got a plane to catch." She put her hoodie back on and then rolled up her shit in a plastic bag and put it in her pocket. "Have fun with your awesome boyfriend." She said sarcastically.
"You're an idiot with these drugs."
That was the last thing I said to her before leaving the room. I didn't know what else to do for Macy. She's been an addict for the past decade. I can't stand to watch another person I love addicted to drugs. I took the elevator up one flight and a wave of anxiety hit me as I opened the door.
"Marshall? Babe?" I yelled as I entered the room.
I walked through the sitting area and peered in the bedroom. He was lying on the bed with the TV on and a notebook in his hand.
"Hey baby." He patted the bed next to him indicating for me to lay next to him.
I crawled up the bed and into Marshall's arms letting out a deep sigh.
