"You was eyeing me up from the moment we met!" I laughingly told Marshall through our Face Time.
"Uh, I believe it was you who called me first honey" he gave me a flirty smile. "And continued to call me cuz you just can't get enough of this sexy body." He lifted his shirt.
OMG, he's so fucking hot!
It was nighttime and I was on my fourteen-hour flight to Australia. Everyone was sleeping, but I chose to stay up late and FaceTime with my boyfriend. My boyfriend! I still couldn't believe it. It feels great to have these long heartfelt conversations all the time. If Marshall is going to be a constant in my daughter's life, I don't want to be jumping right into things.
"Your real name is RayLynn, right? It's not, like, your stage name?"
"Yes Marshall. RayLynn is my real name."
I could see the wheels turning.
"Ray, I want to ask you something." He told me.
"Yeah, what's that?"
"I've been thinking about it since that night we, ya know...got freaky on FaceTime. You haven't had any work done to your body, right? Like, dem titties are real?" He asked me.
I laughed. "Yes Marshall, my boobs are real."
"And that ass is all natural?"
"Yep." I smiled. He's so cute.
"So, your body is just that Gucci."
"I guess I have good genes." I told him. "Shit, not like I would know."
"I understand babe. I had a shitty childhood too. It sucks."
"Yeah. I basically raised Kyra because my mom would leave us alone for days at a time. I quit school in tenth grade to be able to make some money to feed us. I was more concerned with just surviving the day. I didn't have time for high school."
"Me too! I dropped out in ninth grade." He told me.
"No shit! And here we are, two extremely successful artists!" I thought for a moment. "It doesn't work out like that for everyone though. I still hold so much resentment towards my mother. She's almost 50 now and is still going to jail, never got her shit together."
"I used to feel that way too, but since I got sober, I look at things differently. Mental illness, addiction, that all goes hand in hand and now I feel a sense of compassion for my mother."
"I'm thankful you encouraged me to get sober Marshall. Just in these past few weeks, I feel more responsible. I finally grew up."

We landed in Australia and continued to put on amazing concerts every night. I was constantly busy with interviews and photo shoots, but always made time for Marshall at the end of day. During interviews when the question was asked, "Am I seeing anyone?" I kept it vague stating that "I date, but since I'm always traveling it makes it difficult." It wasn't a lie.
Macy was partying a lot lately. Staying out all night, surrounding herself with questionable people, her appearance was taking a toll. All the usual signs that addicts have in common. She was trying to get me to join her at night, but I was no longer interested. I'd rather hangout with my daughter and workout and take care of myself. As long as she brought her all on stage, I didn't really care what she did at night. Out of all of us, Macy and I were the closest. There was a time when we were like partners in crime. Those days are long gone though. One day on our day off, Macy was only just waking up after a day of partying and poured vodka in her Gatorade straight away, so I just asked her.
"Mace, I wanna ask you about something."
She sat back on the couch and could barely keep her eyes open.
"You hittin the hard shit again?"
She looked me straight in my eye and didn't even try to hide it. "You know I am." She replied.
"Well, what do you plan to do about it?" I asked.
"Nothing. It's probably going to kill me someday." She told me and left the room.
I shook my head. Such a shame. That girl is one of the most talented musical masterminds I've ever worked with and comes from an extremely wealthy family. She could have the world by the balls and instead snorts all her money up her nose and drowns her sorrows in alcohol. I felt powerless to stop her though. She's already been to rehab and failed.

A few days into tour Holly entered my room in the morning to proposition me with the next opportunity.
"So, the Grammy's are in 3 weeks in New York. You didn't put an album out this year so you're not nominated, but you could present or perform just to show your face and stay relevant."
"Yeah, I'm down."
"If you were to perform what would you do? One of your new songs from the album about to drop this summer? Or you could keep it old school and do some of your older hits. Everybody would love that."
"How bout Love the Way You Lie?" I asked.
"What is that? I never heard of it."
"It's a new song, I'm probably going to end up adding it to the new album."
"Is it any good?" Holly asked me.
I gave her a serious, reassuring look. "Mark my fucking words, it will be nominated for Song of the Year next year."
"I hope you know what you're doing."
"Girl, of course I know what I'm doing. You'll be blown away, trust me."
Holly started to leave.
"Oh, there is just one more thing." I stopped her in her tracks. "It's a collaboration. You'll probably need to contact the other artist's manager to settle the details. His name is Paul Rosenburg."
Holly blinked in surprise. "Isn't he Eminem's manager?"
"Yep. Sure is."
After Holly exited, I dialed Marshall to square it away with him before Holly got to Paul.
"Hey baby." He answered affectionately, his blue eyes looking all sexy.
"Hey sweetness. How's your day?"
"Better now that I'm talking to you."
"Good." I smiled. "So, I have something we need to talk about. Do you plan on attending the Grammys? I heard you're up for a few awards. Maybe performing?"
"I heard about it. I haven't really decided yet."
"What if we would perform together?" I suggested.
"Love the Way You Lie?"
I nodded hopefully. Marshall thought about it for a moment.
"RayLynn, I would be honored to take the stage with you."
I smiled with excitement. It would be perfect! That's where we met all those years ago and it was ironic that Eminem was now my man and we were going to be performing together. This song has not been shared with the world yet and all our fans are going to love it. It's a theme that so many people can relate to. I can't wait!
"Oh, and Marshall, I'll be on tour until then. I'll be flying in that morning, but we'll still have a few hours to rehearse."
"That's fine. We're both professionals. It'll be great."
"And Marshall...I thought maybe you could take care of booking the...I cleared my throat sleeping accommodations for after the show. Maybe we even want to get a hotel room for a couple of days."
A/N: Yes, I know Love the Way You Lie is featuring the wonderful Rhianna and is on Recovery. Sorry, for the sake of the story Marshall does this song with RayLynn and it's on her new album...just go with it. xo
