Falling into routine with Y/N was rather easy, Tyler had learned to expect witty remarks or bitchy comments when he followed her too closely, or pushed her buttons- From what he gathered, she didn't take well to being told what to do and when to do it. He wanted to call her spoiled, and if you looked at it through a monetary point of view she was. The girl never had to work for anything to get where she was currently. Being born with a silver spoon in your mouth offered such privileges.
But Tyler was beginning to see that this was an act, a wall that Y/N had built up to keep distance between her and those around her. He hoped with time, that he could manage to crack through and get to know the real Y/N, the one that sang along to rap songs on the cab ride back to his place, or danced to country songs in a smelly bar all those weeks ago.
It had been a month now since that night- 2 weeks since Tyler had started working with The senators family, and 2 weeks since that steamy encounter in the corridor. The man would be lying if he hadn't had dirty dreams that night- about putting Y/N in her place and using his tie in a variety of ways- but still he refrained. It was obvious that the woman did not want to talk about what happened at Kelly's Bar. But that didn't mean Tyler wasn't curious.
"Are you going to follow me around all day?" Y/N's tired voice rang out- She was standing in front of him wearing black high waisted dress pants with a white blouse- black heels making her a few inches taller than she really was- her hair was pulled into a tight bun and her makeup was a bit more dramatic today- Her schedule called for such the look, a couple interviews and magazine cover shoots.
Everyone wanted to talk to the Senator's daughter about his recent statements regarding the Working class- and if they should be taken seriously.
Pulling his suit jacket firmly in order to smooth the wrinkles, Tyler clenched his jaw- his hands were covered in veins trailing up his arms and the markings of black and grey just barely sneaked past his sleeve- He knew it was best to keep his tattoos covered while he was working, after all- he wanted to remain professional in the eyes of Y/N's family and his bosses. "Don't worry sweetheart, I won't interfere with your day of playing the public." His words dripped off his tongue like venom- there was some obvious tension between the pair.
Looking up with a sarcastic smile, Y/N grabbed her purse and her sunglasses- "Perfect- I'm Driving." She grabbed the keys off the counter and headed for the garage. Through their last two weeks of working together, Tyler had always been the one to drive- he thought it would be easier should they get into a car chase or need to make a quick exit- Y/N thought he was being over dramatic and that he was acting too much like a superhero, but she was learning that he could be just as stubborn as she was. The banter between the two of them proved as such.
Following her out to the 4 car garage, Tyler looked at the vehicles and almost had to stop to catch his breath- they surely had some nice cars, The senator seemed to enjoy driving around in a Cadillac, Chubbs getting the pleasure the drive that beast of a car- Y/N however preferred something more sleek, she owned a Mclaren but had refused to let Tyler drive it- often opting to take the Mercedes instead. "One day you will let me drive that car-" Tyler spoke with a smirk as he climbed into the passengers seat.
Looking at him through the darkened lenses of her shades, the girl met the same expression her protector wore. "Yeah in your dreams." As the car roared to life, the garage door opened and they were heading to the location of the interview- an extremely nice hotel In the centre of Dallas. Tyler watched as the scenery passed, tapping his fingers against his thighs.
"Can we talk about what happened that night? I just dont understand- Why were you at some random hole in the wall bar?" He suddenly brought up, he knew it was probably best just to keep his mouth shut, but his curiosity betrayed him as he waited for an answer.
An irritable sigh passed Y/N's lips, the annoyance seeming to just radiate off of her- but it wasn't directed towards Tyler, it was at herself, like she was defeated. "Listen... I dot get many nights to just kick back and relax- there is an image to uphold.. So if I take off once in a while and pretend someone I'm not- I don't see an issue with it. You just happened to be there... I didn't think I would be seeing you again." She told him honestly.
Tyler nodded softly, he figured now that they were alone and out of the house, he could probably get her to open up a bit. Truly he understood what she meant- getting away from your life and just slipping into someone elses for a while didn't seem totally out of the ordinary. "Well... I must say that I prefer jeans and t-shirt Y/N much better than bitchy Senator's daughter Y/N" he spoke freely.
Looking at him as they pulled up to a red light, Y/N's lips parted in shock. "You know I could have you fired for saying that right?" She raised her brow and pressed on the gas again- paying more attention to the road- A soft chuckle left Tyler's lips and he leaned against the window with his arm. His watch flashed in the sunlight but it was nothing fancy, it was more practical than anything.
Y/N noticed the piece of jewelry and made a mental note- perhaps if he stuck around for a while she could treat him to a nice watch, as like a birthday present or something. "For some reason I doubt you would do that sweetheart- You seem to like me too much." There it was again- the name that sent shivers down Y/N's spine and sent a warmness in between her thighs.
As they pulled into the hotel parking lot, Tyler immediately went into his work mode- ignoring the snickering comment the woman in the driver's seat produced as she parked. His eyes became set into a dark glance, taking his gun off his hip, his hands expertly switched off the safety and cocked the bullet into place- should he need it. There was no denying it that he had a good reason to carry it- politicians were assassinated through history or kidnapped, who was to say that someone wouldn't go after the family and try to extort them?
Getting out of the car first, Tyler looked around and inspected all the entrances- even noticing an open window and making sure there was no one there. He walked to Y/N's side of the car and opened the door- allowing her to get out, flashing lights were nothing new- Maybe they were to Tyler, but at this point Y/N just expected them wherever she went.
Finally making it passed the crowd and into the hotel- Y/N's publicist greeted the pair and escorted them to the hotel suite a few floors up where the Journalist was waiting.
This was the first time anyone from the family would be speaking about the allegations and negative backlash The senator had received in recent weeks.
It was the lions den, and Y/N was about to go head first.
