Hiding a relationship with Tyler had been a lot harder than Y/N anticipated. Usually her father was very absent in her life- but suddenly it seemed like he was trying to be a better man. While that made Y/N feel good because she was getting the chance to have a decent father- it was putting her secret at risk of being exposed.

Sitting in the dining room for breakfast, Y/N was at the side of the table, her parents at the head and her siblings across from her- Jamie was by the opening in the wall that lead into the kitchen- keeping an eye on the entrance. There had been a few more threats sent towards the family which called for the security to be amped up.

Tyler was standing by one of the windows, his suit looking very clean and crisp. He had an earpiece in that matched Jamie's and his gaze was straight forward. It had been about two weeks since the morning at Tyler's apartment and things were going well between the new couple- most nights were spent at the man's apartment and the day's were spent at Y/N's office building. She ran a media company which originally had been made to process her father's election- and while that was one of their projects, they also did a lot of magazine publishing and had investments in other production companies.

The schedule usually included meetings, lunch breaks and then final supervisions before the girl was able to go home and relax with her boyfriend. Calling Tyler that had come with a lot of hesitation, the man was eager to show her that she could have a normal life and still be the strong independent woman that she was, without needing all of the walls she had built up.

As Y/N took a sip of her tea, she held the fine china cup in her dainty hands- glancing at Tyler and smirking- her eyes immediately becoming hooded and dark. Tyler didn't realize that a woman could look so seductive when drinking tea... Wasn't tea supposed to be the definition of class and prosperity? If anything, he was learning that his girl was full of surprises.

He just had to roll with the punches.

Y/N's mother lifted her gaze from the plate of eggs and fruit in front of her- she looked at the senator who was reading the newspaper article about his reflection campaign that was coming up in the fall. "Are we still going to the alps this weekend honey?" Her voice rang out thickly- it was sweet like honey but even Y/N's little brother could tell it was fake.

Jamie glanced over at the senator who pressed his lips into a thin line. He watched as the older man nodded and waved his hand in the air- dismissing the woman. His wrinkly fingers were adorned in gold rings and his glasses were perched on his nose- threatening to fall down. "Yes darling I already have the cabin being cleaned for when we arrive." He reminded her.

Glancing up at Tyler, she watched as his expression showed confusion- his eyes locked onto his leader who looked concerned. "Mr.Senator, I was unaware your family planned on taking a trip- I'm afraid this is short notice and I don't have any men in uhm.. Switzerland" he tried to level out his worries as easy as possible- not wanting to make the man angry.

Putting his paper down almost threateningly, Y/N's father narrowed his eyes. "My family does this trip every year Mr.Benn... I would have assumed that you did your research before taking this job- are you saying you cannot keep my family safe?" He asked. If it hadn't been for the fact that her Father would humiliate her, Y/N might have spoken up and come to Jamie's defence.

Shaking his head- the man straightened himself up and sighed softly. "No sir- of course not... I'll have a team ready for our arrival." He gulped- backing down from the looming threat of losing his job.

Finishing her tea, Y/N stood and said goodbye to the family- quickly heading out of the dining room and going upstairs to her bedroom. Tyler followed after her and once they were behind closed doors, he raised a brow. "Were you going to tell me about Switzerland?" He asked the girl softly, leaning against the wall and placing his hands on her hips.

Smiling sheepishly at him, she stood on her tiptoes and brushed her nose against his. Her hand glided against the softness of his dress shirt- she found herself grasping the collars of his jacket and straightening it out- She loved seeing him in a suit- he looked ethereal and it was really attractive. "If I'm being honest... I forgot- I never enjoy these trips..." she pouted.

As Tyler raised her chin so that she would stop looking down, the girl giggled. "Hey just think of it as a surprise- you get to spend the week with your girlfriend in the mountains at a fancy rich cabin." She reassured him.

The man let out a soft laugh as he watched the girl step back and go to pick an outfit out from her closet- she had been wearing jeans more often lately and today she decided to even wear a t-shirt- although it had a leather jacket and heels to match. "I like the way that sounds... Getting to call you my girlfriend." He told her. And it was true- he liked seeing the person Y/N was away from her family, she was kind and down to earth- quite the contrast to all the older cold blooded rich people she lived with.

Once she had tied her hair into a cute bun, the girl turned around and looked at him with a. smile. "I like it too- I'm happy that were giving this a chance..." she sighed softly, walking over she pecked his lips and opened the door- "Did you tell anyone yet?" She asked him hesitantly.

She lead him through the house- leading to the garage and getting into her car. She had made a mental note of letting Tyler drive- he liked being in control of the car because it made him feel a bit safer and calmed his nerves. Tyler climbed in and threw his suit jacket and tie into the back seat- he didn't have to be super formal around Y/N which put him at ease. "No I haven't... I mentioned that I was seeing this really fantastic girl to my mom though...'' he looked over and smirked, placing his hand on Y/N's thigh.

At the mention of Tyler's parent's Y/N couldn't help but smile. She hoped to meet them one day- if they were anything like Tyler, she was sure that she would love them. "Oh yeah? And what did she say?" The girl giggled.

Tyler focused on the road- his smile getting used to being on his face. "She's excited." He answered her.

Y/N had been looking at a few apartments that were scattered throughout town, Tyler had his input on all of them- wanting to be sure that his girlfriend would be safe if she wasn't with him, but also that she would feel comfortable- it was her first time living alone and he didn't want her to be scared.

The girl had placed an offer on one that was pretty close to where Tyler lived, it was in a safe neighbourhood and it was quaint. She didn't want anything with a lot of space- after growing up in a big house, she was hoping for something more simple and reserved- something that would make her feel normal.

Clearing his throat as the came to a red light, Tyler glanced at the girl. "Are you going to tell your dad?" His tone was cautious- not wanting to spring anything on her too suddenly. He watched as she pursed her lips before pressing on the gas again and driving towards the city.

The question alone made the hair on the back of Y/N's neck stand up straight- she was worried what her father might say. As much as they tried to fool the public into thinking he was an accepting man and that he loved everyone equally, she knew that wasn't true. He was an old white bastard who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth- he was privileged beyond belief and thought that it was the way things were supposed to be.

"I want to... and I will eventually- I just don't know if I'm going to be able to handle his reaction yet." She sighed, and Tyler understood- he knew families were hard. Adding on the fact that he was her employee- it was a very awkward situation.

Whatever the case may be, Tyler was in this for the long haul- the last few months he had gotten to know Y/N had taken tremendous effect on his life- and it was all for the better. He had really deep feelings for this girl and he would stick around for as long as possible.
