Chapter 14: How To Escape A Victory-Class Star Destroyer

I slammed my blade against Vader's as we started our second duel. Despite being weighed down by his armor, Vader was pretty quick, which made things a little more difficult. I brought my lightsaber up towards his head, but of course his red blade halted my blue one. I kicked him in the shin, then backflipped over Vader's head, slashing as his back. Vader managed to block most of the attack, but a small section of it hit home. But for whatever reason, next to no damage was dealt. With a shove of his saber, Vader pushed me back into the oncoming troops.

I quickly used to Force to clear them out of my way, and then charged towards Vader once more. Unfortunately, being prepared, he Force-pushed me back into the hallway that connected to the hanger. I leapt to my feet just as Vader's landed where I would have been. I slashed at the cyborg again, barley missing his helmet. From there it was parry, parry, block, up, down, block, all the way down the hall. I wasn't fatigued in the slightest, but neither was Vader, it seemed. He struck and I dodged, his blade going wide. In that split second there was an opening, and I took it, slashing at his feet. The Sith shouted in anger, and I took the opportunity to escape the hall. He followed not far behind.

"There's the intruder! Open fire!"

Wonderful.

Troops swarmed from the hall as Vader stormed behind them at a brisk walk. The clone like soldiers opened fire. I blocked as much as I could, but a stray bolt hit me in the arm. I slammed down on a wall panel, and a set of blast doors sealed shut. Vader would be after me, but I was at slight disadvantage.

I growled in annoyance as I ran down the hall. This would be about the time when Obi-Wan would make some quippy comment about me being too reckless. Just thinking about it made me roll my eyes.

I focused on my surroundings so I would be aware if anyone was heading my way. I needed to figure out where a ship or an escape pod was. The hangar Obi-Wan and the others had left from was guarded, and now the others probably were as well. My best bet was probably an escape pod, assuming that would attract the least amount of attention.

I had found the escape pods. However, there were 5 troopers and an officer with a com guarding them. I stepped out from my place behind a wall, and immediately used the force to yank the com out of the officer's hand. She gasped in surprise, then her face twisted into a snarl. "Don't let him escape! Open fire!" The troopers did just that, but I easily blocked their shots and used the force to knock them out of my way. I crushed the com device with my boot and ran into a pod.

Alarms began to blare, and I cursed, slapping buttons on the pod's console. Finally, the door behind me slammed shut, and I was launched into space, leaving the star destroyer and Vader behind.
