Ever After, Chapter One: Forever

this past week since we got back has been a nightmare, we found out the gender of our kid, we're gonna have a son running around here in the next couple months. we had the planning done in a week, which was a nightmare. but we did it

I got dressed in my suit, gelled my hair, combed it, and freshened myself up. If I said I was nervous, that would be an understatement, in fact I'm shaking in my boots

"mon garcon, you're shaking again, do not be nervous, you are marrying l'amour de ta vie" Jules said walking into my dressing tent

"what exactly does that mean Jules?" I responded

Jules wasn't himself today, as in, he wasn't the obnoxious person he usually is

"in Kalosian, it means 'the love of your life' mon garcon,"

Jules wearing clothing that looked colonial, a nice bright blue coat, a nice vest of the same color, and a white collared shirt with a dark blue puff tie. Jules never dresses like this.

"excuse me furruh moment, Sun, boy, it's almost time, get to yur spot, we got a couple hundred people out there waiting fur the champion to get married" Buck said, peeking through the tent cover

I did as instructed and made my way out of the tent, and up the stairs,

Lillie and I had chosen the Altar of The Sunne as our wedding spot, considering what happened 15 years ago, we both have a soft spot for it.

I met Retro, who Lil and I chose to officiate for the two of us, at the altar, along with my groomsmen, Hau, my best man, Gladion, Buck, and Jules as my groomsmen.

Lillie chose Moon as her maid of honor, and Hapu, Acerola, and Mallow, as her bridesmaids

we waited for a few minutes, that was when Retro announced the arrival of the bride, to which, Lillie walked to me, her arm wrapped around her mother.

the bridesmaids did wonders on her, she looks beautiful

the music was cued, and Retro said his opening lines

"Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today to unite two pure souls in legal bonding, these people have experienced hardships beyond our wildest dreams, their names? Sun Kagayaku, and Lillie Aether. we pray that Arceus himself is watching us from above and beyond. marriage should not be taken lightly, as it's the sharing of bonds, hopes, and dreams," he spoke softly but clearly "now, for the rights of passage"

it was now my turn to speak,

"Lil, I will never forget the day we met all those years ago, and that great adventure, the one thing I remember most, is you on that journey. about halfway through, I started developing feelings for you, something I had never felt before, and when you left, I went through a load of pain, until you returned and my love for you went from a mere ember, to blast burn" I spoke, I looked at her

"Sun, where do I start, the journey, was also when I started feeling something I will never regret feeling , I love you, so, so, so much, and to see you 10 years after the great journey we had, my heart couldn't take it, I just had to give into those feelings, despite what we went through, you've given me so much adventure in my life, and I just don't want that to go away"

Retro then spoke again

"now for the exchanging of vows" he grunted "repeat after me, I, Sun Kagayaku, take you, Lillie Aether, to be my lawfully wedded wife, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health, in good, and in bad"

grabbing ahold of Lillie's hands, I repeated the line, perfectly, after that, he told Lillie her vow, and she repeated it back, Retro then said,

"the rings, please"

Dad came up with the rings

"Lillie Aether, I wed thee" I said

"Sun Kagayaku, I wed thee" she responded

"now, go on, and live your life in love, speak the truth in love, and let your marriage be an inspiration to those around you" Retro said "ehm, I now pronounce you, husband and wife, you may kiss the bride"

I pulled back Lillie's veil, and kissed her passionately on the lips.

after some pictures, my now wife was flushed away in an instant, by press and other people, the wedding reception wasn't at the Altar of The Sunne, it was right in the center of Iki town. so, once the press had fucked off, we headed down there.

when I arrived, the place was already full, people eating the dishes Retro had prepared, everybody giving me a congratulations as I passed by, as I made it to the plates, I loaded my plate with one spoonful of literally everything, and I went to sit with my beautiful bride.

I had one spoonful of the food and I thought

'how in the hell did Retro do this!? it tastes...wonderful!'

after we'd eaten, Lil and I had gotten onto the podium to dance, as we waltzed around, she looked into my eyes and said words that I will never forget

"I'm ready to spend the rest of my life with you"
